Wrong room newbie ! You need to be carefull as to were you place your threads. They all have a place out here and the different departments are listed when you log in.

The opus is a good cigar. They are not my favorite but definatley one I like. I give them a B+. I also do not think they are worth the price or the chase to get them. I would rather smoke a good Habano !

I agree. They very good cigars, but are not worth the asking price. For the price of one of those, you can get two Rocky Patel Vintage or three Cusano 18 or a couple of a number of other super premiums.

While I will get one or two now and then for a special treat or gift, I would rather spend the money on something I will enjoy just as much that costs less.

They are great if you can get them at MSRP. They only ones I really liked were at least a year old. I don't care too much for "fresh" ones.

My favorite Fuente product is the Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino line.

perfectly put. they are best aged and if you can find them when they come out (quaterly) first, be quick! second, buy them because there only 9-12 bucks a peice 'in season'. once there gone locally its 22-35 bucks a stick online.

my favorite A.F. is the Don Carlos no. 2, then the Hemmingway Best Seller then the OpusX perfeXtion xXx. im yet to try a Anejo, i was gifted one by my secret santa and im drooling over it as we speak

lastly we had a thread here a fews back polling the AF Anejos (that come out at Christmas and fathers day) vs the FF OpusX and the results were Anejo by far (from what i recall). I dont think people understand, at first, how strong the Opus' are. there are a Cuban-esque smoke that you best have eaten prior to smoking to enjoy

Re: Arturo Fuente Aficionados

I just never understood the OpusX line (& I've tried just about every size).
They just don't do it for me.

Now for the price, WHEW!, I can point you in the direction of some pretty slippery slopes!

As said e;lsewhere, the Opus is a pricey smoke and I do enjoy one every year or so. My favorite AF though is the Hemingway Short Story. its the only small stick I like.

Re: Arturo Fuente Aficionados

I have to agree with most thoughts of the OpusX. I like them, dont get me wrong but others "do it" for me for alot less dough. I have Opus in my humi for what ever reason like most in here. Someone said they people dont understand "just how strong they are" you are correct my friend. I am a nic addict for many years and they are strong to me, not too strong but they are string none the less. They are a very rich cigar.Buy yourself one to try and see what you think then go from their. You live in Tampa so just go to Ybor City to Tampa Sweethearts and get one they should have them. Call them first to see http://www.tampasweetheart.com/2.html

Re: Arturo Fuente Aficionados

I've had several of the Fuente lines - The Chateau is my favorite (regular-Double-Royal Salute-Cuban Belicoso in Natural and Sun-grown) line as of now . I've had a few Opus and liked them , I've had 2 Anejos(#77and#55) and loved them , I will try more Anejos . I've had the Diamond Crown Maximus #2 Churchill and the robusto - the Churchill was better (these cost more then Opus) . But so far for my money , I would get more Anejos if I could - they are harder to come by then genuine Habanos IMHO . I can get Opus at several local shops quite regularly but would rather get the Anejos (cheaper then some Opus X) . My Ultimate Fuentes are the Anejo #77(The Shark) and the Royal Salute Sun-Grown .

Re: Arturo Fuente Aficionados

I agree with most of what has been already said... I don’t believe the price for both the OpusX and Anejo justify the smoke but with that said the ageing is the key... I won't smoke and OpusX or an Anejo unless they sit for a year or even more, if you can afford to buy some and let them age for a year you will have a wonderful smoke. I just had one on New Years from 99 that I bought years ago and it was right up there with the Siglo VI I had earlier in the week. For a very good Fuente smoke go with any of the Hemingway’s my favorite go to smoke is the Hemingway Signature, always a happy camper when I smoke one. Just my
