Thinking about a new project, need some help finding a little wine fridge...

Al gave me the idea to skin a wine cooler with wood to make it look awesome.
Awhile back I saw that Vinotemp made a little dinky desktop thermoelectric and Dave (n3uka) mentioned it the other day.
I'd like to find a little six bottle or three bottle thermoelctric and skin it with oak or chestnut or something, add a sliding drawer with full extension hinges, and maybe pimp it with some blue lights or something.
It'd be best if it was laid out horizontally rather than vertically.

Any of you guys know of a small, inexpensive thermoelectric wine cooler?
Don't want junk, but I don't want to pay a lot either, cause I was going to do a couple and offer them for sale.

Here's the Vinotemp desktop humi.

That's what I'd like to do, but nicer, better looking, probably two drawers with nice faces, and the drawers would stay in it, rather than a tray that slides out.

Check Emerson units, I think they make an 8 bottle unit.
I found a Haier 6 but it's vertical.

Keep your eye on Craigslist and Freecycle. Lots of good stuff pops up on those sites. Also, many gorillas have had great luck trolling the local Salvation Army and other thrift shops.

If it's still available, LINK. I don't know about the quality, only a 1 1/2 star rating.

I'm not sure what price point you're after, but it looks like target (at least online) is trying to dump their red Emerson 8 bottle units for $47 + shipping.

Re: Thinking about a new project, need some help finding a little wine fridge...

I picked up three of the Emerson units.
They're very simple machines. I should be able to go over them with a fine tooth comb and retrofit whatever the problems may be.
My guess is that the hot side of the heat sink isn't cooled. It may take a fan, may need something else. I'll know as soon as I get them why they don't work well.
The main thing is that I'll have a base to work from. I may just scavenge them for controls and go from there, who knows?
What I do know is that these sonsabitches are gonna be wicked sweet.
Thanks for the help, guys. They were just what I needed.
