Re: Black Pearl Robusto

Yes, I have. I think that they are a pretty decent smoke. This is what I wrote up in my cigar database;

"A med bodied smoke. Construction, draw, and burn very good. Taste is of earth and leather. Smoke is creamy smooth and plentiful. Overall, this is a very good smoke for money."

I've found that the LaPerla brand is very well constructed. While it's not a knock-out cigar. It is surprisingly, very good.

Re: Black Pearl Robusto

I won a couple of these as part of a CigarBid sampler. I smoked the first one during the 2nd half of the Alabama-TN basketball game. My palate was already somewhat deadened by a strong cigar in in the first half, but my first blush at this cigar was that it was a mild stick, with a sweetish aroma. It burned well, lasted about 45 minutes, with not a lot of smoke out the front, but still a very good draw. I smoked the 2nd one in a hotel in Columbia, SC. The sweetness was still present, but this time there was also a very definitive peppery taste. All in all, I was very pleased.

Will certainly buy some more.

There are three other Black Pearls: Original, Conga, and Rojo. Has anyone tried these?

Re: Black Pearl Robusto

I have only had one of these and thought is was a decent smoke. I like their regular line as well and find them to be a easy-on-the-wallet smoke that brings flavor.

Thanks, guys... I'm taking notes!

Still on the prowl for affordable, shorter smokes that go well with a frosty-cold beer on a hot summer day!

The La Perla Black Pearl Cobre and Rojo are both fine smokes. I like the Rojo just a bit better but they are excellent cigars either way.

I had the Black Pearl Classic which has the Oscuro wrapper. I really liked this smoke. It had a unique flavor. The Classic does cost more than the rest of their line though, so I've been keeping my eye open for a deal on them.

Re: Black Pearl Robusto

the Black Pearl Robusto is a great cigar. I agree that it has some earth and leather tastes, but to me it also has a Unique flavor that I have never come accross on any other cigar. The only way I can discribe it is, sea air. It's odd to me, but unique.

the classic, rojo, and cobre are also good cigars to try from them. Usually very affordable. especially on cbid.
