So... I think I'm quite entertained ... and beginning to understand ... but... after all the good advice, input, and other it's much more clear now that we have no idea where it originated, but we can sure enjoy it.
some things are just meant to be enjoyed...

Actually what Poker and MCS posted is the true origin. It came from the usenet group alt.smokers.cigars. However the other answers are funnier.
