I dropped my humi...

Yes, you read that right.

I keep my humi on a shelf in my closet to keep my little boy out of it. This means I can't lift the lid without pulling it out because there's another shelf right above it.

It's about a 100-count size, and I can barely grip it in one hand, which is what I was doing as I went to put it away, when it suddenly slipped from my hand.

The split-second it was free in the air under the influence of gravity, my first thought was, "this is going to be LOUD when it hits the ground, and it's going to wake up my boy". For some odd reason I didn't worry about the 60-some cigars inside the humi.

Thankfully I was alert, sober, and haven't lost my reflexes yet. I caught the humi with TWO hands down around knee-level. The sound of two Heartfelt tubes thwacking the inside wood of the humi was loud, but not nearly as loud as it would have been if the humi hit the ground.

Disaster averted. It took a few minutes for my heart to settle from my throat back down to where it belongs.

Since then I ALWAYS handle my humi with TWO hands.

-Pete

Re: I dropped my humi...

i remember the days of 50cnt humi's... then comes the big 300cnt... then comes the cooler or vinotemp... then comes the 2nd one.

not on my 2nd one..... YET

its a slippery slope my friend and you just cheated it . God only knows what kinda humi/cigar buying binge would have come out of that disaster.

The cigar Gods have smiled upon you. I'd burn a cigar in thanks to them.
