Just pull the trigger, my friends. Trust me.

But be advised: these babies ain't no joke. Let 'em sit for a few months, and don't smoke one on an empty stomach.

If you don't like them, gift them to another BOTL or better yet, send them to the troops. You can't go wrong at $2 and change per stick.

There is something Oliva-ish about them, possible because the origin of the original blend was rumored to be the infamous Oliva X.

Re: Famous Nicaraguan 3000 - back in stock!

I was feeling a little adventurous today. So instead of running in traffic (like I normally do), I decided to order a box of 3000's without ever trying them!

Yep, the smart thing would have been to order the sampler with one in it. Not today... logic goes right out the window when I'm "adventurous"... aka: stupid.

I'll let you guys know how I like them.

Re: Famous Nicaraguan 3000 - back in stock!

I don't think you can go wrong with buying a bundle of these.
I just got them last night and am smoking my first this morning (the torp) with my morning coffee.

They can certainly use a bit more time to "rest up" (slight draw issue and slight burn issue, which I attribute to being just a bit on the moist side--or because I'm chewing on the tip too much), but otherwise, they are very tasty and strong.

I'm going to grab another bundle and see how they taste after a couple of months of sitting in my humidor. At $2 + change per stick, I think I may have found my everyday cigar.

PS. Crap, the torps are already out of stock. Damn but these go fast...

All you guys that have placed orders, please report back on how they smoke. I'm wondering if there's any major differences between the last batch and this new one. Thanks.

Re: Famous Nicaraguan 3000 - back in stock!

I received a bundle of the Grande Robusto size on the Monster Deal special last week at Famous SS. This thing is a monster at 6 X 60. I immediately smoked one this morning with coffee. The cap was weak, or I didn't clip it right because it wanted to unravel on me. I put some saliva on it to glue it back and that seemed to work. It burned pretty evenly and it tasted good, just like the other sizes I've tried (chuchill & torpedo). This baby generated a lot of smoke. I got a few dirty looks from a few passerby pedestrians. I will let the rest of the bundle sleep in my humidor for a few months because they will be yummier with more nap time.

I didn't believe these rumors, despite having smoked the Famous 3000's for some years now, because I could never find a single thing confirming it. However, I finally smoked a Oliva seris O a week back, completely forgetting about the rumors. First thing I thought was "wow, what a great cigar" but the NEXT thing I thought was "hey, these taste just like a Famous Nic...3000....hmmm..."

So, personally, i'm convinced the "X" rumor is true, at least of the first batch. People have noticed that the subsequent batches don't taste quite the same but i think thats because they just have rested less. But they still have that taste that is so close to the Olivia O they have to be near lots.
