I just happened to buy some fresh habaneros at the grocery store today. My tolerance level has dropped since the summer and the 2 that I had for lunch rocked my world!

Wrinkle I have learned that lesson the hard way. If you have strayed from the habaneros for a month or two you will pay when you eat one. Let me suggest Tobasco's haberno sauce. Truely a wonderful tasting sauce with the perfect amount of heat.

Re: How does nicotine affect you?

This is when I first started cigars, one day about noon. I wanted to smoke and was hungry (I had no breakfast) threw some food in the the oven went outside and smoked it would take 45mins for my food. So their I am on an empty stomach smoking a LFD next thing I know I'm dry heaving. Since then I have learned to work with what I'm smoking. Try to eat something before smoking a heavy stick and mild sticks I do fine with on an empty stomach. Now I hardly feel the head rush or buzz it depends on the stick.

Re: How does nicotine affect you?

Ugh, tobasco? I use it to clean the rims on my car, that's about it. If you want to try a good habanero-based hot sauce, try Pain Is Good Batch #37.

http://www.calido-indiana.com/ws/1020.html

It is HOT! Yet, it's still flavorful. It is my favorite hot sauce. I've been buying it exclusively for years. When I lived in California several years ago, there were a few hot sauce/salsa shops at some of the malls in the area. The stores have since closed and I've moved a couple of times. The only place to buy it is online. It's a bit pricey, but IMO, it's well worth the money.

Type O have you even tried the sauce. I highly doubt it. Tobasco sauce in general is not good but their haberno version is superb. Maybe you should actually try the product before you review it...yeah.

Re: How does nicotine affect you?

Just a little tip for you guys...if you're smoking a cigar and start to get that high, quesy, nauseous feeling you get from a nicotine buzz, just ingest something with sugar in it right away and it will go away...you could use a packet of sugar, a soda (non-diet of course), anything that will get the sugar into your bloodstram quickly, and that will neutralize the nicotine buzz...forgot the reason it works but it has to do with the chemical properties of the two substances...

Too vinegary for my liking.

Try El Yucatecas red and green. You can usually get bottles for under $2/ea. Green on pizza is heaven. Red is better in sauces.

I ate my first habanero like it was a jalapeno. I suffered for a day. It was like a napalm golf ball. If I could go back, I bet if I turned off the lights in my home and stood in front of a full view mirror, I could probably see where it was passing through my entire gastrointestinal tract.

I know better, now. I'll put slivers on things I'm eating directly and bigger chunks in sauces that'll cook and absorb the heat and flavor.

Habaneros are the best tasting pepper, but you need to learn how to proportion it to the food you're eating.

And WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!

I´d kill to get my hands on a kilo of habaneros. I used to love them when I was back in South Africa. Here in portugal its not very easy to get hold of a wide variety of things.

Chillis give a buzz too btw. The more you eat the more endorfins your body produces which can give you a slight buzz. As for cigars... well Ive never puked but I have had a few strong buzzes where the best thing to do is stay sitting down.

Aaron youre 100% correct about that sauce. El Yucatecas green or red are both superb. I used to buy bottles of it at my local mexican restaurant. And Shakesphere you are correct also...capsacin (what makes peppers hot) release endorphins which elevate mood.

What is this thread about? Nicotine or habeneros. It seems to jump every other post.

FpDoc77 - Matter of fact, I have tried it, along with many of Tobascos other hot sauces. The only one I do like is their Jalapeno sauce. There are many other sauces out there, habanero based, that are better. I linked to one.

Personally, I think Tobasco sauces have too much vinegar. I'm not picking on Tobasco...I don't like any sauce that is heavy on the vinegar.

No need for the flame man.

I love that sauce. I've got some in my fridge. My favorite habanero sauce is Melinda's. I think that it's made in Belize.

Worst buzz off a cigar was an Oliva Master Blends Churchill, but generally after i am done smoking a cigar i feel hungary, or hungarier than when i started.
