Welcome to the jungle Kinky! Give the Shakespeare Natural Vintage cigars a try. I found them (recently) to be mild-med and very flavorful.

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Another IMHO suggestion... If you think you might like to try a maduro, I'd suggest something from the Montesino line (perhaps a Diplomatico M or a Toro M). While they fall in the mild-medium range, they packed with chocolate coffee flavor. As a bonus, they're priced about 40% lower than Macs.

Re: Newbie looking for advice
I found the Perdomo Reserve Champagne a nice light smoke that I feel can be enjoyed whenever you feel. However, they're a tad bit expensive, so I'd hit up (dare I say it?) the Devil Site (ask anyone on the board about it, I'm too afraid to mention it by name). Of course, this might just be my tastes, but I'd recommend you try it.

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Another vote for CAO Golds. I would also try out a few samplers. You might think that you want (or need) a mild to medium cigar, but often times you will find something that interests you outside what you thought you were looking for. Atleast thats what I have founf so far.

Re: Newbie looking for advice
I also agree with Gisperts, but I'm more of a Belicoso Guy,also try the CAO Gold, which has been mentioned also, mild and tasty, and not badly priced I might add, along with the Gisperts, more bang for your buck.

Re: Newbie looking for advice
Ahh... the days of macanudo cafe's... good, mild smokes for beginners. I'd suggest spending a fair amount of time on the reviews boards and read through the threads - the gorillas around here have done all the homework for you, you just need to read the reports! Welcome to the jungle.

Re: Newbie looking for advice
I find that most cigars made in the Dominican Republic with a Connecticut shade wrappers are on the mild side.
A few that I find to be a bit on the mild side include: CAO Gold Don Diego Gispert Baccarat |

I tired the Ashton, Magnum tonight. Hell of a smoke. Nice wrapper, nice mild taste, and excellent smelling smoke. I’ll definitely grab a few more of these babies on my next trip to my local B&M. I grabbed the Romeo y Julietea Reserva and will give that a try tomorrow. Thanks |
