In this case however I couldn't agree with ya more Greg, the RP Vintage '92s blow old men's sweaty saggy wrinkled balls IMO. I like the '90 RP Vintage line though. Go figure.

i only had one punch gran puros though, so hard to judge 'em all. and it was right after they came out...

I have smoked a bunch of toros of both years and have had no problems with loose draws.

Unlike some .... I have no experience with the taste of balls ... old mens or otherwise ... so I'm going to have to pass on taste comparisons in that regard, but I do like both of RP's vintage lines (again, opinion mainly derived from smoking toros). Not fantastic cigars .... but solid.

I have never had a problem with the 92's, but I have only had a hand full of them. Sorry to hear of your problem with it.

If you had that much problem with the draw, I would say the cigar may have been cracked. You were probably sucking the air through a small crack in the binder and getting very little smoke. Sometimes if you find the crack and put your finger over it, you can get it to smoke normally.

I am not one to usually buy into the hype of a cigar, but this was the exception, and man do regret it. I think this is one my list of worst cigars. I had the RP 92 sungrown, I almost , I'll stick with anything wrapped in the sweet silk that is a cameroon wrapper.

I love em.

LT

P.S. I did have one that i smoked that it seemed like i was getting no smoke at all out of despite a nice draw... maybe one of those crack things someone mentioned... All the others were great though, and even the one bad one had a good taste when i was able to get some smoke.

That hasn't been my experience, I enjoy both the RP Vintage 92's and 90's.

Re: Bad Experience with Rocky Patel Vintage 1992

Is it possible for the tobacco in a cigar to become so dry that it is no longer able to absorb moisture, or enough to make the cigar smokable again?

I've had the box of RP 92 in my humi for at least three weeks. The cigars come w/o cello wrappers. I even propped the lid of the box open to allow air/moisture to enter the box freely.

I think I will just return the remainder of the box to my B&M. Perhaps for some other brand. I'll have to return to the RP line one stick at a time. I don't think I'll swap it out for another RP box, not quite yet.

Had you not ever tried any RP's before? I stick with 5ers till I know I LOVE the stick then I may buy a box.

P.S. I don't think there is any stick that everyone likes, but for the record I like the RP's
