Sometimes cheap & mild isn't a bad thing..
I took a chance on those Highlander Torpedos that C International was crying uncle over. They're mild...they burn well, and they have a pleasant taste and aroma. I've just finished my second one tonight, and due to their mildness, my mouth appreciates it. Not bad at all for 1.50 per smoke. They do claim they're inconsistant, so we'll see. 18 more to go.

Hmmm, might be worth a try. Any other cheap but tasty daily smokes out there?

Not to rain on your parade, but I won a box of highlander's when they first came out on cbid, and they still rank as one of the worst cigars i've ever smoked. Want cheap and mild? look for some Gisperts.

Re: Sometimes cheap & mild isn't a bad thing..
I fall back to the Breva Royales and Curly Heads from AF. Brevas run under $2/stick for singles, and Curlys are usually around $2.50/stick for singles. I got a box of Brevas that worked out to be under $1.50 a stick. Not a bad smoke, and you won't cry when it hits the ground.

My local smoking buddy scored a few of these off cbid as well at the very first, and as we always do when we win something new, we traded up our winnings. I immediately upon lighting it thought that it tasted like dried grass, but tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and smoked it for nearly two inches before I had it to toss it. There are better cheapies out there than this one.Cheers!! Steve

I use to date a girl who was cheap, but mild. I agree it can be a good thing.

Cbid is great for finding cheap daily smokes. I have upgraded my daily smokes sine joining the site. You can get some nice Indian Tabacs, Astrals, Petrus, Sherpas, and a host of others for about a buck a stick.

Re: Sometimes cheap & mild isn't a bad thing..
Yes sometimes a cheap smoke is a good smoke, the question is what are the better cheap smokes? Well (punch ) has a great post, Re:Cheap Smokes. It has the brand name of the cagirs, the cost per stick and a grade for each smoke. Take a look at his post you may find something you like, and it will save you the pain of paying for something you will not want to smoke.

Re: Sometimes cheap & mild isn't a bad thing..
I've always been of the opinion that there isn't always a correlation between price and quality. I've had expensive smokes that were mediocre at best and have had some reasonably inexpensive smokes that had ejoyable flavor and decent construction that make nice, regular smokes. Now, of course, there are exceptions - I'm not talking about "cigars" you'll find at the gas station.
