Ever been to a cigar tasting?

Today, @ our local Tinderbox shop, there is a CAO cigar tasting event...

I was just wondering, if I go, what to expect...

I called the Tinderbox and they weren't much help...

Is it an expensive trip?

Thanks, guys.

they just had this at the cigar bar by me. It was a $15 cover, and that got you 1 CAO CX2 and also one drink,...a scotch I think, not sure.

Re: Ever been to a cigar tasting?

I went to the CAO her in Cali last year. The deal they had hear was you buy 10.00 and they give you a free CAO. I bought the Brazilia and a Sancho pansa and they gave me an Italia. They also had raffles for a box and merch. It was a good time.

Re: Ever been to a cigar tasting?

I have been to a few cigar dinners and they are lots of fun!!! You will usually get a few different smokes that go with each course of the meal. It is also a great way to meet other BOTL.

I think CAO is supposed to do something at Churchill's in Boston next month. I am looking forward to that one!!!

have a great time!!!

Re: Ever been to a cigar tasting?

I went to one once at the Dunhill store in Boston and it was quite an event. We smoked 4 different cigars, top scotch and then heavily discounted shopping if we chose.

The cigars were Tempe Hall, Monte Cruz, Partagas, and Dunhill. It was very infomative and in an high class, elegant setting. This was when I first got into cigars, as Dunhill hasn't had a store in Boston for 10 years.

The event was free or relatively cheap.

I used to love those events. I have been to a couple of events there too. I probably bumped into you at one of them. I miss that store. I never bought anything other than cigars there, but I liked a couple of their cigars, even bought a couple of boxes of torpedos there.

Re: Ever been to a cigar tasting?

How do you find out about these tastings? There are no cigar shops around where i live worthy of hosting one, but Houston is a 10 minute drive from here.

Just call the store around Houston that are worthy or checkout their web sites. If smoking inside is legal in restaurants, you could promote a night pretty easily and have a big cigar store supply the smokes.

I like Dunhill dress shirts, quite well made, but I tended to just buy cigars as well. I thought they kept them too humid. How many high end clothing stores can you smoke a cigar in, too funny....
