Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
I was one of the VERY LUCKY Taboo drawing winners two weeks ago. I ended up grabbing a 25 ct. bundle of the Taboo Special Forces Original Lancero. I have wanted to try this stick for awhile. I just had my first one last night. Sadly, I did not let it rest very long.
It was fairly cold and windy yesterday, and I believe I smoked it too fast while on my walk. In the end I had to relight the cigar many times because of tunneling. I am assuming that this is because of the lack of rest and wind. I am looking for members thoughts on this cigar. I am excited to have 24 left, and let many of them age for awhile. Thanks for the information! P.S.- I did a search and only seemed to find one full review of the SFO Lancero.

Re: Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
i got some of these when they first came out and have been smoking them along, a few at a time. i have had some issues with them staying lit. and that has been fairly consistent throughout the bundle and not dependent on age. however, they still taste fine, and the lighting issue is not really a problem to me.

Re: Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
Smoking one now. Pm sent. You should always rest the cigar for at least 3-5 days after you get them. I really don't want to say much since this thread is not in the "Retail section". We have a few folks here that may see this as promoting/or hype of Taboo.
![]() After I finish my SFO Lancero, I will pm you again with my results and the probable cause of your experience. Thanks Rob |

Re: Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
I had to set my cigar down for about 5-10 minutes to run inside a store and buy a mocha for the walk. When I came back the cigar was out of course, but once it was re-lit it had a hard time staying lit. Thought it was basically my fault for letting it go out in the first place.
I am hoping that better weather conditions will help the next time I light up a SFO Lancero. Also- Mods may want to review this thread. My intent was to just ask the BOTL of their experiences with this cigar. I was hoping for many positive posts so I would know that my experience was my own fault. If this thread needs to be moved, feel free to do so.

Re: Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
Ok, just finished mine. Burn was fine but had to relight 3 times after putting the cigar down for a few minutes at a time. Tasted great. They need to come out of the humi for about 3-5 days and they will be fine. I have done this before and I knows this works.
If anyone has any other questions, please ask. Rob |

Re: Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
Yes. After these set for about 60 days in the humi last time, they did not go out. If you dry box, then this will speed up the process. The tobacco itself does not need any more aging. The ash actually held for the first 1/4 and did not go out until I set it down. The ash fell as it approached 1/3.

Re: Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
I just got back from Rob's shop, grabbed one right out of new bundle.. Cut and lit it, not one problem, stayed lit the whole time (not one touch up) with no draw or canoing issues.. I'm not saying you didn't bro, you just must of gotten a moist/bad stick... I wouldn't dry box them, try another to see if there's any difference.

Re: Reviews?: Taboo SFO Lancero
I just finished one of these from the original release.
It started to go out at about 1/4, hit it with the lighter. Started to sideburn at 1/3, touched it up with the lighter. Burned fine the rest of the way. No different than many cigars in this manner. Tasted great. -duhbruce
