I'm looking for a good but not too pricey medium bodied cigarto get my dad for his b-day. I'm lookin' to spend like $20 for a 5-er. I know he likes Ashton VSGs and Davidoffs.... any suggestions?

Fuente Chateau Natural for a shorter stick, Double Chateau for sometime more time consuming. I give them alot and haven't had a dissatisfied receiver yet.

Several good Carlos Taranos, I like the Signature line. Darker stick, but lots of flavor, but not a heavy hitter in terms of light-headiness. usually can get the robusto size for about $4 each and my B & M. Got a 25 ct box off cbid for $70, less than 3 per stick.

Gurkha Regent Toro would also be a good choice. This box pressed is one of my go-to gars.

Agree with the CTS, great Cigar that I wish I had more of......

H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon would be a spicer (on the fulller side of Medium) alternative, it isn't too strong as not to be enjoyable if you're looking for medium bodied.

Re: Medium tastey cigar ideas

RPV 1990 EURO'S have quite light wrappers, but are a great smoke. I had my first of 4 last night and even though i havent had too many cigars, I'd go as far as to say that this is now my fav. Very smooth. Never felt harsh at all, no more how many times i puffed it. Tasted quite good too.

I think it is $25 for a fiver on CI.

Re: Medium tastey cigar ideas

When I give cigar gifts of 5 or so, I like to give a brand sampler that comes in its own box. It's a much nicer touch than a plastic baggie with a smiley face.
Brand samplers can be had fairly cheap on the devil site.
The Victor Sinclair Bohemian 10ct sampler can be had for about 20-22 bucks and has a lot of eye appeal. Sure they're not Ashtons, but there's ten of 'em, we older guys appreciate quantity. Alec Bradley has a 5 churchill sampler that you can get for about 10 bucks on the devil site. The 5 Vegas sampler is nice too.
Or you can try something totally different and get him a Puros Indios Chief.

Whatever you get him, give him the gift of your time and attention. He'll appreciate that the most.
