Cost of your "everyday" cigars...

I often see people post about how they have found their "everyday" cigar. This raises 2 questions:

(1) What makes up an "everyday" cigar? Is it a yard 'gar? Golf 'gar? Something nice but easy to find? Better? Worse?

(2) What do you think is the right cost for an "everyday" cigar. In my very limited experience, you can get some pretty decent sticks online for around $4.00 or $5.00 -- is that high or low for an "everyday" cigar?

Thanks!

First of all welcome... I am pretty new around here, but most of my "everyday" smokes are $5 and under. I have several that I enjoy regularly that are around $2-3.

I find balance. There are a few cheapo cigars that I love and smoke all the time, and there are some pricier sticks I smoke too. Averaged out, I probably spend about $4 a stick, so I smoke what I want when I want.

Today I smoked:
Cheap Honduran bundle cigar -- $1
Cuban PC -- $4
Nic puro -- $6

11/3 = $3.66 a stick.

My everyday smokes are Onyx and Padron 2000 maduros mostly. I consider an everyday stick something I can keep a few boxes of around without worrying about having to toss it 1/2 way through if something else comes up. Usually I'm smoking these while driving or just relaxing after work everyday. Not over $100/box.

Thats about $2.00 and $3.65 a stick.

I don't smoke every day any more. When I did the cost was normally ~$1.

I had a 70s Partagas lonsdale at lunch and will probably have a Padron 1926 #1 in maduro in a little bit or maybe a 1957 Robt Burns panatela. I may be skewing the results a little.

My dailies are smaller smokes; MC Joyitas, RASCC, etc so around 3-5 bucks bought online. I have some cheaper cuban on order (PLP) that are around 2.50 a stick.

My daily smokes are Monte #4 and RASS. Neither are bargains, but I stopped caring about that when I realized I had a cabinet full of luxury smokes!

My goto cigar is a H. Uppman Vintage Cameroon. Med smoke, never had a bad stick. $3 - $6 depending on where and size I get.

Yard Gar - Grand Habano #5 Fumas - $! a stick off teh devil site. Really to goosd to a yard gar but at that price....

Cost - all depends on your discretionary cash. For me the $4 - $7 range is where I am comfortable. At $8 and up I really pay attention and do some extra considering when I pull these out. To others a $10 smoke is there cheap one. Like what ya smoke and smoke what ya like.

Thanks!
As always others' milage may vary.

Re: Cost of your "everyday" cigars...

I don't get to enjoy a cigar everyday but the one I grab the most these days is the Pepin Black Label.

I stocked up on these a couple of times when they were the joecigar.com deal of the day. I believe I payed $30 for every 10 pack I bought if I remember correctly.

I have a ton of these but for some reason I can't stop checking joecigar everyday to buy some more. I just can't pass up a good deal!

Re: Cost of your "everyday" cigars...

I smoke 3-4 a week, and definitely keep it under $6.00 each for the most part.

90 % of my current stash consists of Padron 3000, Partagas Black, La Tradicion Cubana, Sabor Cubano, AF 8-5-8, Oliva Serie G, DPG Blue, and Tat Red and White. I love all of them, and can't understand paying a lot more when I get pretty much everything I want for less.

I occasionally splurge for some 601 Greens, AF Hemingways, or Padron Anniversaries, no problem. I love all of them as well, but the difference in flavor, quality, and enjoyment doesn't offset the difference in price to the degree that I can make them regulars. Maybe I'm a cheapskate but I just have a hard time pulling the trigger on anything over 7 bucks.

For example, the Padron 1964 Anniversary is a great cigar, maybe the best I've ever had. But at my local B&M, the 3000 goes for just over $4.00, while the '64 Exclusivo goes for over $12.00, 3 times as much as the 3000. Is it 3 times as good? No, not even twice as good.

To each his own, and by all means smoke what you like. That's what I'm doing, and so far I've been happy doing it without smoking a lot of expensive stogies.

Re: Cost of your "everyday" cigars...

Welcome to the jungle.

I smoke a number of different cigars, but I'm still searching for that one cigar that costs between $2-$5 bucks and I want to smoke every night. I have spent a fair amount of money looking for that perfect cigar and here's my list so far.
Padron 3000 both natural and maduro
Oliva G Cameroon
Taboo Twist
Montecristo Media Noche
Punch Gran Puro
Cubao
Tatuaje P Series
Angel 100

I have found that the larger your collection gets the less you remember how much a single cigar costs. I just grab and go
