Re: Problem

During the winter, when the opportunity for enjoying a smoke doesn't present itself very often, I may go a couple of weeks or longer without opening the humi (I may just visit the local shop, sit and enjoy a smoke from their humidor). I like to just let them hibernate for the winter. Although last night I had to wake them and just take a little inventory. They were nice and groggy so I quickly put them back to bed.

Re: Problem

I make it my business to open my humi at least once a day.
Don't have to if I want to see them as I have a glass door on mine.
I just love to move the boxes around, feel the cigars and more than anything, take in a few deep breaths.
I remember reading it is good to ventilate the humi and heck, it didn't say how much.

Re: Problem

Nope, not me. I open it daily, just to pull out my evening's cigar.

Very rarely, I'll peek through the glass door to make sure it's holding steady at 63-65%. If I look through the door, all I see it the boxes and bottom drawer.

As for light, mine sits in the closet of my home office. Sunlight NEVER sees my cigars as they rest patiently.

You need to get a small desk top humidor. I have cigars at arms reach!!!

I have one either about a dozen Robustos and other short smokes in it. I just openned it to try to pick out my companion smoke for my lunchtime walk. Do I go with a Deisel, an Indian Tabac, a Trilogy, Cusano 18 Maduro, A. Turrent, Off-one or maybe a LaFinca.

It is about 50 0ut and sunny. Going back into the 30s next week, so I should have something nice today.

Decisions, Decisions!!!

Re: Problem

I might have a bigger problem , every time I open my Savoy - my 2 year old comes running to take a sniff "that smells good Daddy" , now I'll have to hide the key to keep her out to prevent total heart break . Hopefully I won't forget where I put the key .

Re: Problem

I used to do it alot. 4 or 5 times a day. Now I just to it to check the humidity or get something to smoke. NOW keeping my 15 year old son out of it has been a problem. He loves the smell. And will take a sniff from time to time. So far aint no stogies showed up missing.
