Re: Cuesta-Rey impressions??

The Cuesta Rey Centro Fino Sun Grown is a very nice cigar that is well made & blended. The only issue I had with a box of the robustos that I bought were that they needed some lay down time.

Thank you, sir! It is a robusto, and I believe that I'll give her some more time, rather than waste her!

Re: Cuesta-Rey impressions??

I've enjoyed all the C-R's that I have had. The Centrofino SG and the Centenario (in Maduro) are both enjoyable. They are a good value if you get them by the 10 pack box on JR's. My B&M wanted over $6 a stick single which there are other smokes better for the price.
Yet another fine cigar from Fuente. Hope you enjoy!

It is a good cigar, and you will like it if you have given it 4 to 6 month in the humidor.

Re: Cuesta-Rey impressions??

Very nummy stick. I personally would rather have it over the VSG for a sungrown wrapper.

Re: Cuesta-Rey impressions??

Really? Better than a VSG even if the money would be the same???

I think that the VSG's are awesome, the cuesta rey sun grown centro fino are okay but nowhere near where the VSG's are. I got a few cuesta reys which have rested in my humi for a good 8 months. you got my curiosity peaked, i got to go and sample once i'm back home...

I'm not really a big fan of the VSG's. Looking back at my statement though I would say I'm nuts. I don't judge on price either, a stick is either nummy or not so nummy to me. The last VSG I had was probably in the beginning of November and it was good, but it never grabbed my attention. I may as well just smoked a good $3 stick and it wouldn't have made much difference to me.

Blasphemy! I love my VSGs. Almost have every size, a whole drawer full of 'em.

I suppose now that I have to go out and get a couple Cuesta Ray sticks to try. Might save me a few bucks if they are even close to a VSG.

Any opinions on the Rocky Patel Sungrowns? I just returned my funky box of RP 1992 back to my B&M and got a box of sungrown Belicosos. Never had them. I hope I didn't make a bad decision.

RP Suns are like Joya de Nic Antanos, only not as strong. However, they're a bit stronger than Chataeu Fuente Sungrowns.

I like the Cuesta Rey Sungrown Churchill No 1, but it's very different from the other sungrowns. I'd call it a medium bordering on mild, with none of the sungrown twang you get from Fuente Suns, Montesino Suns, VSG, or RP Suns. More of a light peppery taste.

Them are some good sticks - if the belicoso is the torpedo shape , thats my favorite so far of the RP Sun-grown line .

The CR sungrown is a very tasty stick for sure. I'm surprised Prince hasn't chimed in yet, I think he likes these
