Is it just the name that turns you off?

I will never buy anything with PUFF.com on it, but I will buy and wear or use Club Stogie items..


I hope Jon and the Club Stogie members can keep the Club Stogie family, community, forum as it is for many more years to come.

To be clear, I fully understand it's Jon's, it's a free country he can call it whatever he wants. I wasn't trying to make any point on how bad the name is or not.

The question was does the name turn you off, not whether we have a right to ask/expect a different name.

I will stick around and see if the forum stays the same great place it is.

With that said,

The name puff.com SUCKS. Big time. It is really, really, really bad!

But, who knows, the forum may remain the coolest, despite the name...

So, to answer the question, for me, yes, it's just the name that bothers me, because it is really horrible.

Add together the name, logo (pufferfish in top hat and monocle), motto (inhale life) and fact that it will be for profit AND combined with at least one other board and you get one very large steaming pile. The ONLY positive thing that I see is the retention of our mods, who kick ass.

It seems that people are upset that their house is being torn down and made anew. Is it appropriate to be upset, absolutely, would it have served Jon to come up with several names and had all the boards take a vote, sure. It looks as though Jon came onto a site as the new owner and some felt that he is stirring the pot. Whether it be gorillas, puffer fish, or anteaters; I am going to try and enjoy what changes he brings.

Well this will be the first time that I've thrown my into this arena. I don't like change much except when it comes to cigars I'm always down to try a new stick. But the PUFF.com just sounds like a site where a bunch of stoners congregate to discuss what's new in the world of drugs. I for one am not pleased with this. I love Club Stogie as a community though I have not had the time that I would like to participate as of late. And I'm glad that the mods will be staying with us. Hopefully there are no major changes to the format or the way business is conducted between us. But the name PUFF.com is a major turn off.

You find it homoerotic? You mean like smoking a cigar? A big, fat, phallic cigar?

But seriously, what I see going on here is the same thing I see when other sites make changes. People fear change. Some people will be unhappy, and leave. Some people will be happy, and join. The vast majority of people will be completely indifferent, and continue to enjoy the site as they did before. All in all, the scenery may change somewhat, but the overall vibe will remain the same.
