White spots on wrapper

Anybody have an idea of what these are? I am smoking a Hemingway Best Seller. The wrapper has many tiny white spots scattered over the surface. These are not fuzzy like mold, nor do they rub off or smear like bloom. They look like "age spots" that people develop on their skin when they lose pigmentation. I wonder if this was the effect of sun on the wrapper?

Re: White spots on wrapper

Somewhere a long time ago I thought I read (can you say memory loss?) that spotted wrappers are caused by water spots on the leaf. The sun's rays are magnified by the water droplet and gives the leaf a blotch of sun burn.
I may have dreamed this after eating a pepperoni pizza before going to bed.

That's the best theory I've heard so far.

How big are these spots? Can you tell me how many millimeters they are across? And are they white, like rice?
I'm eager to find out what this could be, there's gotta be an FOG that has seen this before.

Size of a pinhead. You think it could be chickenpox?

I should've taken a picture, but I smoked the stick already. Didn't effect the flavor, I can tell you that. I dug into the rest of the box but couldn't find any others with the same spots.

Re: White spots on wrapper

This sounds like plume and it is a good thing. it is the oils in your cigar crystalizing while the cigar is aging.
