Don Pepin Garcia My Father

Come on. Don't get me wrong, I love DP...probably one of the best blenders of our time. He has really great cigars, some that are pretty pricey. But these. This is just cheesy to me. The name, that is. Saying that THESE use the FINEST Nicaraguan tobacco (not the Blue's or JJs or La Riqueza or Cubao or El Centorion now) and blah blah. I'm sure these are pretty good, but the price point for these are astronomical ($230 MRSP for Robusto) to me. I think I'm gonna stick to some of the lower end DP, which are actually better than most of the higher ends anyways (save the La Riqueza).

I'm with ya on this one Boone! I do love the Blues and Blacks and they are reasonable in price. I have started my venture into Tatuaje and La Riqueza and my credit card will soon regret it.....

Re: Don Pepin Garcia My Father

Agreed, although my threshold of what value means has gone up in price, some of these DPG blends are getting ridiculous price wise. That said, I love his smokes, and it certainly makes 601 and Cubao easier to justify though

My understanding of this cigar is that Pepin's son blended it from their own crop of tobaco. Named it in honor of his father hence the name My Father.

He should have name it "My Old Man" then!
