If you could HERF with ANYONE who is dead..

If you could HERF with anyone who is no longer with us - who would it be and why?

Ill go first.

I would pick Mark Twain. He was brilliant, well spoken, and truly a linguist at heart and I imagine would be an extremely interesting person to smoke a cigar with.

Sun-Tzu or Miyamoto Musashi... That way if I were ever caught in a land war in Asia, I might consider myself slightly prepared. Other than that, they were great strategists.

I don't if they had cigars then, but I bet they'd like them.

Re: If you could HERF with ANYONE who is dead..

Tough question. I've spent years trying to make the rounds with everybody here, never even thought about it. But I guess maybe Jules Verne. Although I agree with the above, I would have liked to have a chance to have a cigar with my granddad before he passed.

Twain, Churchill, and Groucho, all at once.

Re: If you could HERF with ANYONE who is dead..

I never met my paternal grandfather. He smoked and may have enjoyed a cigar. I knew my mother's father. He did smoke cigars, but he died when I was 14. To smoke with either or both of them would be neat.

For more famous people, Hemingway would have been interesting to smoke, chat and have a few drinks with.

Walt Whitman - I love his writing and he was pretty nutty as well.

Groucho Marx - Very intelligent and very funny.

Mark Twain was actually friends with another famous cigar smoke - U.S. Grant.

Now that would be quite a herf.

I would also say my grandfather, like the others, I never got a chance to meet him.

As for famous people, Hugh Hefner, just for the eye candy that would be around.

Or JFK and Che Guevara at the same time. Both big time smokers and to get a chance to see how the two would interact with one another, maybe throw Castro into the mix.

Re: If you could HERF with ANYONE who is dead..

Not sure some of these guys were smokers but it would be fun.

Historical
-Teddy Roosevelt (fascinating life)

Author
-Hemingway (did everything and would love to hear the stories)

Comedy/Entertainment
-Rodney Dangerfield (I would be laughing the whole time)
-Sinatra-Not a fan of the music but the atmosphere would be fantastic.

Fictional Character
-Jack Bauer (Enough Said)
