Shipping to the world and Canada from USA

This is a discussion on Shipping to the world and Canada from USA within the General Cigar Discussion forums, part of the The Cigar Lounges at Puff category; I've done this on CPF and some others. Just for niceness I would offer to Canadian and over the water ...

Shipping to the world and Canada from USA

I've done this on CPF and some others.
Just for niceness I would offer to Canadian and over the water BOTLs a reshipping service.
It is a shame that so many things are not available to youse (New Jersey speak for multiple you) just because of shipping.
If you have a need; I'll receive and repackage goods that you want and send them off to you.
You're more familiar with the rules of USPS than I so you tell me how to fill out whatever paperwork there is.
You pay me what it costs for postage. Rounded UP...
I can do this on a regular basis if you need.

Sooooo... you order a product
have it shipped to me
I repackage and ship to you...
Simple
Regards
Tom

Wow, that's awfully kind of you! As a citizen of the great white north, it does completely suck that certain places do not ship here. I guess they figure we're not worth the trouble? Or maybe they're bitter that we get CC.

Hmmm... I'll take some Cubans, some machine gun bullets, fireworks, and lets round it off with some 'shine.

P.S. Please ensure your name is on the package in case its returned to sender.

Kidding aside, nice gesture bro.

Wow awsome offer. I may take you up on that sometime in the future when I have a bit more of a budget to spend

That is mighty nice of you. I've always wanted to try some cigars that I can never get from the regular spots that ship to Canada. Next time i have an order come through I might just hit you up for that.

Likewise, what a nice thing to offer to do for people I hope you have lots of spare time on your hands though, because people might come out of the woodwork over this!

I try to get everything through companies directly, but the list isn't that long and like DCMD said there are a few products that you just can't get elsewhere.... I'm sure you'll be getting all sorts of obscure cigars sent your way.

EDIT: Depending on what the order is, I'd probably offer you to keep a few sticks.... of course the downside is that it would require you to open it and repackage it again afterwards.

Neither.

Canadian customs opens a box and sees cigars, levies taxes, duty, and you get a notice to pay $250 for the $100 worth of cigars that you bought. In this situation, a lot of people refuse, have the CC charges reversed, and the company that shipped the cigars to you is left holding the bag .. even assuming the box is shipped back to them.

So a reshipping across the border would be a great service.

Spot on!

This is a gripe of many of us here. If you aren't 100% prepared to pay the duty - DON'T ORDER. We've lost some GREAT vendors because of this (they no longer ship here).

Seeing we're on that point... I want to add that it is entirely possible any shipment Tom sends might get hit by customs. For those contemplating taking advantage of Tom's generous offer, be 100% sure you're going to accept what you get. It would put Tom in a really bad position to have to take a return of someone's stuff.

EXCELLENT points all.

In reality there is ZERO difference customs-wise between ordering from one of our "good" suppliers versus having him as an intermediary. All he is doing is generously offering to help us order from companies that have washed their hands of having to deal with the whole "international" thing.

If you can't pay, don't play.

Re: Shipping to the world and Canada from USA

I believe I will have to take you up on this as well. I have a friend in the states who shipped me cigars that I had ordered from american vendors, but he is no longer willing to help me out. Thanks!
