Trading Cigars for Services
A recent comment from Palm55 (http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=19145) Got me wondering.
Has anyone traded cigars for other goods or services (other than on CS and other cigar forums). I have traded cigars with shop owners a time or two, but was mostly giving a cigar as a gift to an owner that I noticed was a stogiehead, and the owner then gave me some item as a return. I have given cigars to my local police chief a time or two (known him for years) in the hopes that one day I may can "trade" the past gifts for a "free pass" on a traffic issue!! (Plus, he was used to smoking cheap stuff, and figured I would be remiss in not introducing him to a better quality smoke). Not really a trade, but has future potential. |

Re: Trading Cigars for Services

but now that you mention it, no i have not. It seems like a good idea though.

I haven't either. Although when some of the bombs arrived, my girlfriend thought I was taking stogies in payment for something...

Re: Trading Cigars for Services
When cigar purchases are a little $ high $ for the wife shock treatment, I have my Brother get me a couple of boxes and pay him for the cigars and also give him a few. I just received a box of Vegas Robinia and Mags 46 and donated a couple from the boxes for him. He was more than happy. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Re: Trading Cigars for Services
Ive never traded cigars for services, but when the wife and I are invited to someones house for dinner or a party instead of wine or something of the sort , I always take a few good cigars and Ive found they are always welcome.

Re: Trading Cigars for Services
Come to think of it I have...
I don't know if I got any services out of it, but when Iwas in highschool I gave two Cuban Romeo and Julieta Churchills and a tin of Persian caviar to my economics teacher. Man he treated me nicely... although I don't know if it was before or after the gift. He even once told this gorgeous girl with I was trying to pick up to sit beside me during a test so she could cheat of me. I've loved supply & deman ever since... ![]() |

Re: Trading Cigars for Services
I did a web sie for cigars once. However, if anyone wants to make 50% ROI in two months, I have a good opportunity. I just landed a deal I need to jump on for national advertising the the Beer and Cigar festivals. and I will pay handsomly. PM me for the details.

Of course I have traded cigars for ashtrays as already mentioned by UIS, but since that's within CS I guess that doesn't qualify for what you're asking. I did give a cigar to a new contact that I made for getting wood for the ashtrays I make in the hope that he will look on me favourably when I make future purchases Kinda like you bribing the police chief Cliff!! ![]()

Re: Trading Cigars for Services
I give the landscapers at work cigars as a bride to pay extra attention to my property. They're responsible for 6 properties and are spread pretty thin. Since I began gifting stogies to them, my gardens and lawn look so much better. That makes my boss happy which is what the game is all about.
I once gave the garbage men in my town boxes of cigars for Christmas. For about two weeks they stopped throwing my barrels in the road. Those cigars were a poor investment in hind sight, as I spent the rest of the year chasing my barrels. ![]()
