I did, and it only took about an 1/8 inch....

Sorry to see it, hope it is smoking well.

I have read on here before to remove the cedar sleeve and foot band to help with the mold that seems to follow the Anejo's. I have a few and didn't chance it, they are naked.

Splendid, overpowering at first, but mellowed after the first half inch. Still love my choix supremes though.

Yeah, that was mold. Anejos are notorious for it. I usually wipe it off with a damp cloth if it's on the wrapper, but chuck the stick if it makes it way to the foot. I'm glad you were able to clip the foot and salvage the cigar. Especially with something that's HTF.

That's something I have thought about before also. I feel like it would be a good way to kill the mold on the surface of the cigar, but for this stick where the mold is on the foot, the mold may be inside further where UV would be ineffective. I think next time I find a stick with some mold on it I will stick it into the UV sterilizer they use for safety goggles in the labs at school and see if it works.

Not really. If the RH is in the upper 70's you will get mold. Trust me, I found out first hand.
