Re: Developing that local shop relationship
Great deal Dave.
And I agree with the getting to know the local shops. I drop into the one here about once a week. I have never bought a full box from him, but I have got lots of singles. They have a 10% club that costs 10 bucks a year and I joined it. Told him at the time that if he ever got to the point that he remembered my membership number I would be in trouble. About the fifth trip in after that he had my number memorized. I said oh hell, I am in trouble. Paid out and went home. Opened the bag ( they are solid white > and there was an extra stick in there. A RP 90. I drove back to the store and advised him that there was on in here I had not paid for. And he said with a smile I do know nothing about it, enjoy. Since then if something new comes in he sends me an email or tosses a freebe in when I make a purchase. Man things were getting good and I up and lose my job Stacey |

Re: Developing that local shop relationship
I thought I had a good relationship with a local Shop. I went in there twice a month on average and purchased a fair amount of Cigars from them. I always asked about the Anejo's, especially as it got closer to the Holidays. The response was "We should get them in right around Christmas". Well I stop in about the 2nd week of December and I ask them once again "Are the Anejo's in yet?" The Response? " Yep, they came and went". They got in a few box's and sold out in a couple days. They had no Maximum buy per person so, my guess is they went to themselves and those "special" customers that buy most if not all of there Cigars from them. I guess business is business but I thought being a regular customer all year would have counted for something. I did however find that their main competition was friendly and had a 2 per person max on the Anejo's and actually went out of their way to call me and let me know when the different vitola's came in.They even held a few for me. Obviously they've got my business from now on.

Re: Developing that local shop relationship
God I wish there was a good b&m here. There is a new one that has a nice shop and a so so selection, can't get Torano etc.. and is a bit over priced. The rest make most of their money selling lotto tickets and mags.
