Frustrated!!! JdN Antano 1970 price goes up again.

I thought that some of you might be interested in this. In January, the JdN Antano 1970 Beicoso was $85 a box at CI and Famous. I found a deal through a friend's shop @ $69 per box. In Feb, they went up to $75 at my friends B&M. In July they were up to $80 and then I found that on April 25, 2008, Drew Estates replaced SAG Imports as the American distributor of JdN.

On Monday, I went to my B&M for my regular order and she informed me that the price went up again. This time it went to $98 a box. Let me see 12/07 $5.95 for a single and $69 for a box of 20 Belicoso, and now 10/08 $7.95 s and $98 per box. CI went to to $119.95 and MSRP went to $160.00. In one year $34 a box. That is one and a half times higher. IMO Drew estates price them out of the market.

This pains me because I love the cigar, but???.

I will still buy a few here and there because they are an excellent smoke, but not by the box. And I was buying a box a week.

I agree that their prices have grown too much and made them too expensive for what they are. I love the Antanos, but have other cigars in that price range I'd buy before I'd pick up more of the Antanos. CI does have a great Joya sampler with 4 different blends and the price is still the same as what it has been for months. I'll probably pick up another of those this weekend to tide me over until Drew Estates pulls their collective heads outta their butts.

I warned a few months ago this was going to happen. I would look around and find good prices, they are still available at the old price at least for now. I have a couple of boxes of machitos iced at the old price.

The stud is correct below ... you only need to look for the best cigar prices ;-) ... but I'd get them now, I think everybody's prices will go up once the gougers .. I mean Drew Estates ... has the complete inventory controlled.

You can still get them for $81 online. I am supprised CI raised them up so much. Hell, you can still get the Consul for less than $60.

Try the new Casa Magna. I think they are better than the JDN's and at thier former pricepoint.

I hate to see this. I just "found" this cigar and when I started looking for them online the price keeps jumping up.
