A blue moon ale with a slice of orange and maybe some pretzels crackers or whatever is on the bar at the time. Follow with a glass of water and spark it up again. Or if you are wasted, who gives a s#^t?

I once read and have since confirmed that eating an apple is good - the texture of the flesh plus the acidity does a good job. You need an Mac or somthing similar - a granny smith or delicious does not seem to work as well. I also found that eating pineapple does a great job - better than apple.

Not too much thought put into it if I plan on smoking multiples.
Just mild-strong.

I always have to give myself a few hours in between to really clean out the taste of the other. And if I don't have the few hours to spare, I just skip it knowing that the cigar will always be there the next time I want to smoke.

Some have suggested using very dark chocholate or a spoonful of peanut butter but even that doesn't seem to work very well for me.
Try either soda crackers and H2o, or pickled ginger (the kind they give you at the sushi bar)

I tried the pickled ginger. It makes the next cigar taste a lot like tobacco + pickled ginger.

I use coca cola or another sweet soft drink and gargle it around in my mouth and then swallow it. I find that works GREAT.

Re: Clensing your palette - smoking two in a row?

I havn't found anything that will totally cleans my pallett before smoking another stick, but many of the choices above will help to dull the reamaining flavor of the first one.

It's like eating hot sauce and then expecting to savor the steak you just ordered. Sure milk will help to stop the heat, and you'll taste the steak, but nothing short of recovery time will help the taste buds get back to square one.

Re: Clensing your palette - smoking two in a row?

At tomorrows herf I will smoke at least 6 and maybe as many as 8 cigars. I dont really think about cleansing the palette, but I do think about what I am going to smoke and I never follow up something strong with something very mild. But I will use a CC to cleanse my tongue as they have very little aftertaste. Start mild build to strong and then taper off as the evening gets late. For a two smoke night I usually start with the milder of the two smokes.

It's different for everyone. I was involved in a marathon 12 hour ppp and I was able to taste each cigar and thier nuances clearly. I drank lots of ginger ale and snacked on cashews and salted almonds. That worked for me.

What I am curious about is what techniques (if any) do you use inbetween smokes so that you can enjoy the unique flavor of each without any crossover?

Keep in mind you might not be at home but at a friends - in a bar - etc

Ah I just made a posting about this on my website: you can click here.

Its called Dr. Nick's breath purifier.

This stuff is the size of a chap stick and I always carry one around with me for the multiple smoke kind of nights.

If I have a longer break bewteen smoke I will drink something like lemonade or coffee to help.

Re: Clensing your palette - smoking two in a row?

I usually drink Lemonade or Raspberry zinger Ice Tea with my cigars, and I find that either one of those - if not made too sweet, will do a very good job of cleansing your palate.
