I use my torch. I figure I'd better use it since I bought it. It is quick and easy.

The people that think the torch affects the flavor are the ones that don't understand how to use it properly.

Torch for an even good light.

That said, I have a TON of 3 inch cigar matches from Cohiba, Montecristo, etc, that are just sitting around waiting to be used. I'd offer them up for free to anyone here, but you're not allowed to send matches via Canada post

Re: Lighting your cigar - match or torch

I think using a torch is like using rocket engines to travel a city block. It is just so over-kill. That is not to say I never use one but I prefer the match because it doesn't shoot flames deep into my cigar.

ETA: Oh yeah and shame on you for not using the search feature. Who do you think you are the owner or something?

Re: Lighting your cigar - match or torch

Seriously, though I prefer the cedar and really enjoy it, for the most part I use a torch. I really like the one I got.

I put a CD next to it for Size reference.
Lighting your cigar - match or torch-img00116.jpg

Fits in my pocket fine despite the size and while the vector, colibri, etc. are costing $75 and up. this guy retails for $25 and can be found online for $10.

Re: Lighting your cigar - match or torch

I prefer the torch, but would like to try a stick of cedar. What is the difference or purpose of using cedar to light a cigar.

I used to be a big fan of wooden matches, but now use a torch always. It's far superior, IMHO.
