I had my first cold weather smoke last night in the garage. It worked out pretty well with just my small electric heater and light jacket.

Nice to know I'm not the only one suffering. I shall think of you all as I puff away in my new little igloo I'll wind up building in about a week when the cabin fever sets in.

Yep, and it's 111 in the Summer. You don't even need a lighter in August

Some folks thinks garages are for cars. Not me!

Tower heater packed and ready for the cold blast of winter.

Do you mean whiteface? Less than an hour. Too bad I only cross-country, eh? But I agree; it's beautiful..something very serene about a snowy wooded area.

Where are you in the Adirondaks? My wife's family has a place on Schroon Lake. If you are an hour or so from Whiteface you've got to be close by. I love it up there.

Got a fire going out on the deck tonight boys. It's a chilly 56* here in St. Auggie, FL.

Enjoying a Gurkha Black Puro and a few Belgian Ales!

Life's good and it's finally cigar smokin' weather here in the Sunshine State!

Winter car smoker

When it's cold outside I do most of my smoking in the car. I have about a 20- 25 minute commute to work so I generally have a cigar on the way to work and one on the way home. I also have the option @ lunchtime to smoke @ the local B&M. I really enjoy driving around the New England countryside, listening to the radio & smoking a nice stick. It's my form of meditation.
I do miss my summer evening smokes in the yard though.

It's pictures like that that made me an indoor smoker. Of course my office smells like cigars, but I don't even enjoy smoking them when it's that cold outside.

Exactly! I have a buddy who's trying to quit cigarettes and he doesn't "get" the whole "cigar thing." I keep trying to explain to him that, as an ex-cigarette smoker myself, I stood outside in the cold because I had that addiction - how stupid is it to actually go out at -30F to smoke because you "really need one?" I've done it. But as a cigar smoker, it's all about the whole ritual of selection (looking, smelling), cutting, relaxing. Do I need that cigar? Not really. I want it, but I'll never feel the need to go out at extreme temperatures for one.

Exactly! I'm an ex-smoker too. I smoked a pack or more a day for 3 1/2 years but quit a little over 10 years ago. Cigar smoking has never made me feel like I absolutely have to have one. I don't wake up and grab one, I don't grab one right after every meal, or when I get off the train. All things I had to do when I smoked cigarettes. And you're absolutely right about enjoying cigars. I've found I don't enjoy them nearly as much under several circumstances: 1. When it's freezing cold outside, 2. In a super smokey cigar bar, 3. When drinking anything other than something relatively sweet (I usually drink beer that's on the sweet side with cigars).
