An odd pairing

I already know that I'm weird, so I won't bother asking THAT question.

Ever tried a good cameroon paired with a Drambuie on the rocks, followed by a good micro-brewed root-beer? You'd be amazed.

Theres something in a good (cane sugar) root beer that plays off the spices in the Drambuie and the cigar. Leaves a nice root-beery, sweet spicyness to the smoke.

What can I say...I like Rhubarb pie too.

just my .02.....

Drambuie. I haven't had that in years. I think I will have to pick a bottle up tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me.

Re: An odd pairing

I've done a cameroon and grand marnier and it was outstanding. I also have paired drambuie with a few different smokes and enjoyed it as well. One time I tried a smoke with sambuca, thinking that it would be similar to drambuie because it is also black licorice (sp?) tasting, but found the sambuca to be too syrapy and overpowering.

Re: An odd pairing

I have been a huge fan of Drambuie for about 15 years now and esp. with cigars. Lately, I have been drinking Amarula with cigars as well when I man I met onboard a cruise on the Queen Mary 2 introduced it to me. Since then, it is either of the two.

I prefer a maduro along with these drinks but that is the cigar of choice lately but it satisfies any wrapper.
