I can see it now, when the Embargo is lifted, the first Regional Edition Estados Unidos will be called the Vegas Robaina Turkey. I'll smoke one of those on Thanksgiving when it's released. Until then.. hmm not sure.

Re: Thanksgiving Day Smoke

Since I enjoy both pipes and cigars, I will be starting the day off with my pipe and some 2006 Christmas Cheer and after dinner will be a cigar. I haven't exactly made up my mind yet on what it will be but it is between Padron 26 or 64, VSG, or Opus X.

I'm not much a mild cigar guy, so as far as recommendations for your dad, I would recommend Perdomo Reserve Champagne (an excellent smoke and one of my favs) or a Casa Torano.

Re: Thanksgiving Day Smoke

Way too early to tell. Good thing is Turkey Day is at my house again this year so I will have the luxury of pulling out whatever happens to catch my attention that day. Weather permitting we will be able to smoke out back. The whole family will be in town so I am looking forward to hopefully enjoying a smoke with my brother.
Now Christmas will require some thought as we will be heading back to NY for a few days so I will need to plan in advance. Being we will be in NY, chances are it will be too cold to smoke outside and too busy visiting everyone to go back to my old hangouts to enjoy a smoke so I will probably only pack what I plan on smoking during the drive as my wife usually does not mind as it keeps me from dozing off too much.

Re: Thanksgiving Day Smoke

I'll be camping and know exactly what I'll be enjoying that weekend. I have been gifted 2 silkie Oliva blue bands and will toast both of them!

Thanks Scott and Ted!!

Casa Torano, Yes it it pretty mild so my dad would probably like it. Great suggestion.

The Casa Torano is definately a good choice for your dad. Also consider a Romeo y Julieta 1875 or the Vintage. I would like to go with one of the Pepins I got in a sampler last week, but I'd like them to rest a little longer first. I might go with the Torano Cameroon 1916 that I have, but we'll see.

I'm going to do some Pepin My Fathers and some Pepin Black/Blue with my Father-n-law. He's as much a Pepin nut as I am.
