Re: Thanksgiving Day Smoke

Undecided on a Thanksgiving smoke so far. Probably nothing special. A good cigar, but nothing extra special.

I'm change my mind too much, and what I pick now will definitely not be what I end up smoking. However my friend I suggest a Padron '26 for you and your dad

I'm planning on a five year old Opus X, but we'll see.

Re: Thanksgiving Day Smoke

I'll be porching it with my brother. Just picked up 2 Oliva Master Blends III Torpedos, and 2 C.A.O. Gold Maduro Toros. Haven't tried either yet, but look forward to them both.

Re: Thanksgiving Day Smoke

oops. I got so excited about my own smokes I forget to post a suggestion for your dad. Someone else here recommended the Casa Torano. I have also had good experience sharing these with people new to cigars. They are med. bodied, but have a very aromatic cedar spiciness that warms up well by the middle point. Adds complexity to an otherwise easier smoke. I have not had a God of Fire before, but I have heard that they aren't as strong as the opus x. Perhaps he will enjoy that after all.

I've got a Tat Brown Torp. waiting to be smoked. I've yet to smoke any Tat, so I'm really looking forward to this one. Can't wait to fire it up...

I'm a little biased because I'm a whore for pepin but outstanding choice. I bought a My Father smoked it the same day at the shop and left with a box.

I'm planning on firing up an opus double corona followed by an Illusione 888. Cheers!

The only thing is since my dad is not a cigar smoker then maybe something milder but still great would be good. Suggestions and what do you have picked out?
Sorry for 2 posts in a row, forgot to include a suggestion for your dad. How about a rocky patel autumn collection. Fits the occasion, the band looks like thanksgiving, its silver and orange, and its a very mild smoke. Still has good flavor just very mild. well priced too!

The Autumn is a great recommendation!! It's a very nice mild/medium smoke with a decent amount of complexity. I've had 2 and enjoyed both.

Since he's not a cigar smoker I would go with something mild and inexpensive. You'd hate for something to go to waste if he decided he wanted to stay away from cigars. I would recommend AF Double Chateau, CAO Gold, or Oliva Serie G. For me it will be an Oliva Serie V for Thanksgiving.
