RyJ question

Hi guys, I was about to buy some cigars for my friend and he said he likes RyJ Vintages. I was browsing and I saw that some of them have numbers next to them, does it affect the cigar taste or is it basically just the dimensions of the cigar? Thanks!

Re: RyJ question

The numbers refer to the name of the cigar which, in turn, spells out the specific size of the cigar. They all have the same blend but different sizes does affect the strength and taste somewhat. But I wouldn't worry about that with these. They all are quite mild.

I - Long corona 6 x 43
II - Grand Corona 6 x 46
III - Robusto 4.5 x 5
IV - Churchill 7 x 48
V - Double Corona 7.5 x 50
VI - Pyramid 7 x 60

Also, the numbers mean your smoke time will very. 6 x 43, for example, means the stick is 6" long with a 43 ring gauge (ring gauge is the cigar's diameter, measured in 64ths of an inch). The Double Corona listed above that is 7.5 inches long with a ring gauge of 50 (long and thick) will take more time to smoke (generally about an hour and a half to two hours) than a stick that is 5" by 32 (short and thin - will take about 45 mins to an hour).

Ring gauges:

For the most part, companies will release different sizes of basically the same blend of tobaccos to accommodate different smokers; just look for the name of the line (for example, the RyJ Vintage sizes that NCRadioMan listed).
