Ok, I'll take a shot:
H. Upmann: wrapper is way too dark, band is crap
RyJ: cap looks a little funny, bands are off-center
Punch: the wrapper looks a little off, it's fairly dark, and shows no box pressing

Cohiba is fake because no gold around label and there doesnt seem to be a triple cap

The RJ looks fake because the red band looks too high, its not centered in the white part of the band

The H. Upmann because the center label that reads H. Upmann and Habana doesnt apprear to be centered in the middle of the band and construction is crappy.

  1. 1. Bolivar is fake , because the area under Bolivar should be Red not Brown
  2. 2. H.Upmann is fake because the crest in the center is badly done
  3. 3. Romeo Y Julietta is fake because colored area is off center top to bottom , it should be off center left to right if it was genuine .
  4. 4. Cohiba is real , old style band
  5. 5.Punch is real
  6. 6. El Rey Del Mundo is real

yo, those of you that keep saying the cohiba is a fake haven't smoke any older cohibas. the gold lettering is a new thing.

and, it's cuba, i've had some vey jacked up looking bands before, on real cigars.

check out the stampings on this one... they're not the same on any of 'em in the photo.

here's some real bolivar bands as well.

Shhh. I was going to tell them all I'd be willing to trade some Anejos or authentic hand finished Cubans for all of their "fake" Cohibas.

(Just kidding, of course )

Just shows to go ya, I'm still a newb.
I've not smoked a really aged cigar. The oldest I've smoked was from 1999.
Thanks, Greg, for your feedback. That is how we all learn.

It's funny. It had been so long since I bought a Cohiba that when I saw someone post a picture of one with the gold lettering not long after I joined here, I thought it was fake. I did a little research and then realized how easy it is not to know what's going on with those silly Cubans and jump to conclusions about things.

Peter, I'll send you a Cohiba without the gold lettering if you want to try one.

Re: CSI: Club Stogie 2- Six Smokes, Six brands, Three fakes...

Wow no winner yet still! your all very close, but the correct 3 fakes havnt been listed in a row yet (forgetting the 'reasons')

I will say this- the bands have been shifted on some of the smokes, im guessing. only 1 or 2 of them had the bad 'bonded' to the gar, so dont let how high or low the band is determine anything for ya

We will have our winner soon!
