Re: freaking beetles!

Never saw the beetles, but the first, and the last time I ever bought cigars off of eBay, they had the holes. I just through them out. It wasn't worth the little amount of money that I paid for them. Scary thought.

Re: freaking beetles!

A friend kindly donated the stick he found with a hole for a little disection. Here are the pics...

First, you can see the holes in the wrapper.

Now the wrapper has been removed and you can see the holes in both layers.

Here's the stick without the wrapper. You can see this guy got around. In fact, you can see it to the left side of the pic.

Here's the smoke with the binder removed. You can see the entire grub now.

Here's the grub after I dumped it onto my lens cap.

And here's a pic of the stogie with another layer of tobacco removed.

And finally, another shot of the grub. I changed the camera setting to try to get a sharper picture of the beast.

Re: freaking beetles!

Thanks for the compliments on the shots.

I tried to get some good ones of the grub, but I just don't have the right gear. Looking at it with the naked eye though, it had six legs toward the front and no others. Its head was sort of an orange/brown. Basically it looked exactly like a grub that would turn in to a june bug, just very very small.

The beetles lay eggs that hatch into grubs, which eat your cigars and then turn into beetles.

Re: freaking beetles!

I was grubbing on some awesome Mexican food last night. Man, I left holes all over the place.
