Obama Smokes? Maybe there's hope?

I'm not really looking for a political discussion, but I'll probably get one anyway.

I just happened to find this interesting post this morning.

It is even more interesting that it comes from a non-smoker defending smoker's rights. It's a short 1 minute read.

Who knows, maybe Obama will make the cover of CA. From my discussions, most, if not all of the cigar industry executives voted Republican because of the SCHIPS bill, if not other reasons as well.

Maybe there is some hope for smokers anyway. Check out this post and let me know what you think.

Well, if it does get political the mods will delete it just like they did to the election day smoke thread last night. Don't understand why they couldn't have simply just locked it instead of deleting the whole thing.

Yes, we know it starts innocently enough. It begins quite civil. Yes, we also see how well the following 3 pages go too. What you do not see is all the reported posts we have to deal with, dozens of PM's saying how "it wasn’t my fault", or "he started it", or "what about that other guys thread". It’s just too much work and most times it damages Club Stogie for what it is first and foremost....a cigar message board. It’s not a "post whatever you like" board. It’s not a "political agenda" board. Its not a board to debate about other religions either. It’s a cigar board. Let me repeat...it’s a cigar board.

No secret, some tried to make it a big deal when he started his campaign. So he started chewing Nicorette. That did not do him well and he started smoking again. Hope, maybe. Change, not really.

There might be hope that he knows how a person with a cigarette or nicotine addiction goes through on a daily basis and uses his own addiction as an example.

I could be wrong but I think he actually installed an outdoor tent-type setup so he could have a cigar. However, I think he did it with his own money and not the taxpayers.

For some reason, regardless of policy, I don't think they are going to make the President step outside for a cigarette.

Thats right I knew it was something like that. I think the argument was that it was less than 20 feet from the entrance of the building.
