A new personal worst

Previously I posted that the worst smoke I ever had was a Dominican called Carbon Copy. We have a new leader in the clubhouse: Rosa Cuba, a terrible stick from Nicaragua. I got this in a free cigar offer from CVM Cigars, and I understand why. It started off harsh and got worse. Even though this was a small stick to begin with, I tossed it less than halfway through. This cigar wasn't even worth the postage it cost to get it here.

Thanks for the heads up! On another note however, each will find their own opinion on every stick out there. For example, I bought a few cigars here based on recommendations in a thread titled "Unique Cigars". Two of the recommendations I bought were a CAO Italia and an Ashton VSG both of which I personally disliked, and the Ashton I actually pitched halfway through. Now, that's a cigar that many here love and it's pricey, I just didn't dig it at all. Another of the ones recommended, the St. Luis Rey G Maduro, I really liked a lot.

So, what's gold to some may be crap to others. I know you know this already, just figured I'd say it again Never tried the one you mentioned but I do appreciate the heads up and unless there were positive comments on it I would take your advice and avoid it unless I got it free.

Re: A new personal worst

This one I recommend avoiding even if you do get it for free.

Rev2010: For what it's worth, I don't care for Ashtons or CAO Italias either. The Brazilia I like, though.

I remember buying a bundle of Rosa Cuba's from JR when they first came out. They tasted so bad I wouldn't even give them to my worst mooching friends. They went bye-bye with the trash man. Somebody must be ordering them as I remember those came out quite awhile ago.

Re: A new personal worst

i'm on a ski trip at Jay, VT (horrible weather right now!) and i got a chance to stop by a liquor store where they were selling Rosa Cuba (Angel size) and I have to say, these are a lot better than I thought they might be! and cheap too! a bit rough around the edges, but mild, creamy, straight up tobacco flavour that doesn't need your attention. i'm smoking it now in pretty cold weather (finally!) and i wouldn't feel bad ditching it since my fingers are freezing - i'll just buy somemore!! anyways, i say you folks should try this cigar especially if you'd like a cheap, mild cigar. no harm done at less than a buck for one!

I bought a bundle of the angels recently to fill out an order. I found them to be ok as a short smoke for outdoors here in CO. Decent with a cup of coffee but at 11 bucks for a bundle of 20, no big deal if it gets too cold out and you gotta pitch it. YMMV
