Whether or not he smokes cigars, he is still going to tax the hell out of them. He's already stated that he'll sign the bill that Bush vetoed.

I want to be very careful not to turn this into a more "political" thread but let me remind everyone that Arnold is an intense cigar smoker as well.
At a certain level the cost of a cigar doubling doesnt affect you the same way. Whereas a 7$ cigar turning into a 14$ cigar because of taxes may curtail my smoking or cause me to look at alternatives the same does not apply for someone that earns 10 to 20 times what I earn. If the cost of Diet Coke doubled I may drink less at first but can guess that I would get back to normal levels pretty soon. Case in point - gasoline... How many of us bought a bicycle to go to the office or grocery store? |

Even if he is a "BOTL", for [SIZE="2"]political reasons [/SIZE]he will not be caught commenting positively about it - much less seen smoking a cigar. The same was true of President Clinton, who seems to enjoy a stogie quite regularly.

While I suspect that Bill Clinton is probably every bit the dirt-bag he has been made out to be, I still would jump at the chance to herf with him. He knows how to have fun, he could tell an almost endless stream of great stories, and I would sign, in blood, an NDA not to ever tell Hillary anything we allegedly said or did. Plus, I lived in Oklahoma for over 10 years, so he's practically a home-boy.
I think I would still bring my own cigars, though, just in case.

I'm thinking everone should hold their water for awhile to see what is the true story. Just because he smoked cigarettes before does not mean he won't bow to a stronger lobby,,,like his wife for instance. How many politicos smoke cigars in the back rooms only to vote against them in front of their constituency? Whatever is politically expedient is the rule and then they have their own rules in private. Wait and see before we all get too warm and fuzzy over the "new president."
