Smile Do you remember your first cigar?

What was it? Where? When? "Thought a trip down memory lane would have some nice post."

Me, Cruise to the Bahama's about 2 years ago. heard all the hype about cuban smokes, went into a little cigar shop and bought a Cohiba, only one I knew about at the time. Damn..big mistake. Like a crack addict now. Been smoking ever since. 2-3 a day. More on the weekend. Find CBid "Deathsite" and CS is probably either worst thing or best thing that ever happened to me.
Everyday smoke are now Gisperts and Indian Head.
La Gloria's are special occassions and weekend smokes.

Re: Do you remember your first cigar?

My first cigar was a Royal Jamaica about 10-11 years ago , was in a large display box , went back the next day and bought more of different sizes . If you can find the old version , grab them . It's been all down hill ever since , I smoke more each year .

I can't recall when I smoked my first cigar. It was just that memorable. The many cigars that I've smoked in the past are better left forgotten.

Hell no. It was 35 years ago. I can't remember where I put my watch most mornings.

It was sometime in the early 80's and I'm sure it wasn't very good! First good cigar was the Romeo Julieta "Romeo" a perfecto which I would die for today, no longer made for some damn reason A really nice smoke, It was alot like the Hemingway Signature, a little more mild, Hemingway is now my favorite go to smoke. To think back to the 80's hurts my head...

Re: Do you remember your first cigar?

My first cigar was a Swisher Sweet in the 7th grade which would have been about 1966. My first REAL cigar was a R & J reserve maduro in July of last year. That one was my downfall into financial ruin.

Re: Do you remember your first cigar?

Well I remember the month and where. At the time I didnt care about brands and there wasnt a band on the cigar. We were having a work party (August 05...yes Im truely a newb to cigars) at our attendings house. He offered me a cigar and the rest is history. I enjoyed that cigar so much, probably more the situation than the cigar. Til this day, I dont think he knows he sparked my cigar obsession.

Re: Do you remember your first cigar?

I started smoking cigarettes 35 years ago and somewhere in those early years sombody gave me an "itsaboy" or an "itsagirl" and I smoked that. It was probably a Dutch Masters. They had a lot of that type back then. I quit cigarettes for the third and final time about July or August 1988 and within a year or 2 I picked up cigars parttime. One of my coworkers pointed out the meaning otf the "Tobacco and other non-tobacco ingredients" on the side of the cigar box and I went to a cigar shop to explore. The owner showed me some closeouts he had for $0.35 a piece that had a proper cap and were 100% tobacco. I don't remember what brand they were but they were smooth and mild and after one or two I was on my way.

Re: Do you remember your first cigar?

I have a good memory for some stuff ... and bad for others. I do remember my first cigar though, even though it was a few years ago.

First thing made of tobacco that I ever smoked was a pipe. Borkum Riff Whisky. I was in grade 10, one of my friends Leon had a pipe and I thought it tasted great. One Friday night I forgot my pipe and baccy at home, so when we were in Webb's (a convenience store) getting mix for the tequila, I ordered me up a pak of White Owl Invincibles.

Smoked them in the woods drinking tequila and washing it down with grapefruit jucie. Yes, I know NOW that tequila and grapefruit juice mixed together tastes like vomit. The cigar tasted great under those conditions. I ended up smoking more cigars than pipe the rest of high school.
