Re: Current prices.

Seems to me the manufacturers have decided people will spend less and smoke less. So rather than push lots of cigars at lower prices they are looking to push fewer at higher prices. Just look at the new arrivals this year. Almost everything is in the $7+ range.

Re: Current prices.

I hadn't thought about the tax angle or that on-line sells mite be band. I used to dip and was getting my snuff on-line to avoid the high CA taxes. Then a few years ago, I got a notice in the mail from the state franchise tax board that stated "We are going to review all on-line tobacco sells from people in CA and seek to recoup the loss in taxes plus fines. Nothing ever came of it but I quit buying that way. I really hate this state sometimes.

PS, thanks to all for the 411 on the definitions.

Re: Current prices.

Are you guys serious? I am just a newbie (4 months and a stock of 97 cigars at present). At the rate I smoke that is a good few months (If no one is smoking with me, I only smoke 2-3 a week max. Sometimes none at all because I am traveling so much and dont want to worry about drying out and other states laws). If others partake with me It could be 4-5 cigars in a sitting all on me. No biggie. But if this is an issue, I might need to consider purchasing more. Side note: I love Javas and Famous has a HUGE sale ($103 for the robusto, free shipping, and 5 more in a 5 finger case). This thread gives me more excuses to buy. Man I sound like a salesman for DE. I just like the flavor. I picked up some CAO flavours also. the honeys and moontrance. Havent tried either yet. No time with my travel schedule.

Fine, Fine. You guys scared me into purchasing another box. Dang this fear factor. I used to just buy a lot because I liked too. Not addicted to Nic. Dont smoke frequently enough. But I am done traveling for the season December 5. Maybe then I will enjoy a little more. At least now I know there will be something in the box for sure.

I too have submitted to the fear factor and purchased two boxes of Por Larranaga Panatelas for fear of those cheap smokes going up before I even tried them. Couldn't resist after reading s15driftkings revue on them.

Re: Current prices.

Like the other guys have said, I've not seen any decrease in cigars. Spending most of my time in the pipe section now, and actually am seeing an increase in pipe tobac prices as well.

Re: Current prices.

There have been some smokin' deals on Cubans lately. I guess this is a combination of the worldwide economy, weaker euro, and holiday season. I think now is the time to build up your CC supply but not sure if that's the case with NCs. Of course, prices could always go down from here.
