Do you look/wait for sales?

Do you check CI, Famous, and a few others every day for the sales or wait to purchase if you know your B&M is going to be having discounts?

I do for sure. Right now, I know a B&M near me will have a sale on Christmas Eve and offer great discounts from 7-8 am. Last year, I dropped $200 on singles because the prices were so good. I'm holding off on other purchases until I see what their sales will be like this year and what I buy. I never know, though, 'cuz CI might force me to pick up something nice along the way

Not really. If I see something I want I buy it. Sales are nice though.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

I just check and see if they can beat the price of my local B+M, more often than not, they can't

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

Nothing like the rush from nailing a good deal. Overall I find it tough to beat some of the specials and sales you'll find on-line as compared to B&M's, nevermind digging through CBid.

For example earlier today I picked up 10 CAO Brazilia Gol's for $29.99 w/ free shipping on CI's Joe's Jambalaya.

Warms my heart!

I check daily, even if I am only window shopping.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

I check a lot. Daily. Well today is jumbalaya on Joe cigar so I check it every 30 or so. But with all the scary talk of prices going through the roof, making internet sales illegal and the like, I look a little harder. But yes, yesterday I saw a great deal on Javas at Famous and bought. I really like Javas, but I really think it was the 4 finger travel humidor that got me to bite. I am a sucker for free stuff.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

I had to quit buying cigars due to lack of storage space at the beginning of last summer. I even went so far as to unsubrscribe from all the sales email lists I was on. Things were really getting out of control.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

I'm a big beliver in online bargain hunting. You can tie yourself up in knots, though, comparing prices for several different favorite cigars and computing shipping costs and what-not. And I also like to spread a little business to my favorite B&Ms because they're good guys and have taught me a thing or two.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

I always look at the sales but unless it is something I want I don't buy it. I usually check around eight or ten websites I use and get what I want at the lowest price I can.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

I just started buying online, and this is the way I see it.

Last week I bought a 5 pack of RP for $18 including shipping. This would have normally cost me $35 at my local shops. Now I have $17 to buy another 5 pack online, or pick up 2, 3, maybe 4 singles at my local shop.

It's also a great place to buy bulk to keep your humidor up in numbers, and have some solid bulk smokes, like a Punch or Macanudo, for the guest that couldn't tell a Dutch Master from anything.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

check out cbid and CI everyday. It crazy though that I see so many people bid so high on cigars and especially digital hygrometers. Know your prices before going to cbid

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

On the CI website, theres the Joe's Jumbalaya thats been goin on all day. I actually got in on the CAO Brazilian Gol earlier today as well. Right now they've got a killer deal on some Man O' War Double Corona's. I actually don't know what to do.

But to really answer your question. Yes I look for sales, but sometimes you'll be able to find them for even cheaper elsewhere, and maybe even get some other freebies or something too! So it's always a good idea just to look around and compare.

Re: Do you look/wait for sales?

I am inherently frugal, so yes, I wait for sales generally speaking. This meshes well with hitting the slope really hard.

On occasion I do buy some things at the lowest I can practically find them if they're uncommon enough or I want it badly, or sometimes I'll settle for less of a deal to combine an order together. It's a weird combination of manic binge buying and pragmatic bargain hunting.
