Re: Obnoxious Post #2 : All about the BUZZ & the Bees

Dipping can really get me buzzin but I'd have to equate it more with a caffeine buzz a than anything. That is unless you do way more than your body would like to handle (cigars, cigarettes or dip), in which case you get the dizzies and maybe even end up refunding your dinner.

Im sure it depends on your tolerance and how often you smoke. Nowadays I don't consider myself that much of a regular smoker, usually one or two (or three) cigars a week.

That first cigar recently in my start down the slope did have me wired up and "home improving" all over the place I gotta say.

Re: Obnoxious Post #2 : All about the BUZZ & the Bees

I usually get relaxed and a general feeling of well being when I smoke a cigar, some times it goes a little further and I get kind of a speed buzz and on rare occasion it goes even further than that and I get sick. A few months ago I was at a herf in a small basement and it was very smoky and I smoked a couple of power house cigars back to back and ended up pretty sick. The firs time I got a real buzz to the point I was sick was when I was pretty young and it was from dip, not a fond memory....lol They say when you get that feeling to drink some thing sweet (sugar sweet) and it will help to calm the buzz down a bit, seems to work for me most of the time.

Well, yeah, I do. I'm an admitted nic junky, though. I'll usually take 3-4 puffs, exhale all but about 1/4 of the last one, and then inhale. Wait a minute or two, repeat. I'm pretty sure this puts me squarely in the minority around here. I do approximately the same thing when I smoke a pipe, too.

Re: Obnoxious Post #2 : All about the BUZZ & the Bees

I was smoking a La Flor de Cano that was gifted to me by another BOTL, and was fine up until the end of the stick. I was sitting, and could feel a slight buzz and my head was swimming a bit. This has never happened before with any other stick.

The feeling passed relatively quickly and was not unpleasant or to the point where I wanted to head to the bathroom.

I have some others that I expect will give me a buzz... I'll see what happens when I have time to spend enjoying the cigar in one sitting.

Re: Obnoxious Post #2 : All about the BUZZ & the Bees

About a week ago I ate an enormous amount of sushi and then smoked a churchill sized stick. I don't know if it was the sushi or the worst monster nicotine buzz of my life, but I got so dizzy that it actually felt as though my heart wasn't beating properly. Sushi does not taste good on the way back out. I threw up once every half an hour for the rest of the night. I don't even remember what kind of cigar it was, strangely enough.

Glad to assist 'ya Kev; thanks for the nice words, y'all. And great stories, keep 'em coming; I love to read 'em.

And I'm very glad that I now know that what I experienced definitely was the nic buzz. You guys have described it perfectly; exactly how I felt minus the nausea and . But there's always next time!

Re: Obnoxious Post #2 : All about the BUZZ & the Bees

My first buzz (including the ritual tossing of the cookies) was when I was a newbie and decided to try an Arturo Fuente robusto. Not the usual cigar suspect but I suspect that both the cigar and myeslf were on the greens. Since then, I do get pale and clammy on rare ocassions. Nothing that a nice and cold shower won't fix.

Re: Obnoxious Post #2 : All about the BUZZ & the Bees

I do not remember the stick that I was smoking, it might have been a padron, because I don't smoke to many of those. I remember one day last summer I was sitting out in the yard smoking this cigar, and about 2/3 of the way through, I had to stand up and go and change the water, and I felt one heck of a nice buzz. I have never had a cigar make me sick - I always drink lemonade or ice tea to take care of that, but have had a nice buzz every now and then.

Thanks for posting this brother, you always crack me up to be sure!!

One of my favorites, Dave and glad you liked it. I'm hoping to convert you to the Rocky Patel line of cigars. I got to meet up with him Sat. at the big herf in Atlanta along with David Blanco. Unforturnately I must have done something wrong with Mr. Patel and I think he's getting a restraining order out on me. It was so crowded at the herf and in the big humidor they have there that every time he turned around or stopped I'd run into him with this stupid smile and saying, " Hey, how's it goin?" You can only say that a couple of times until it gets awwwwkkkkwarrrrrrddddd!

I don't care as I love his cigars ( as I kept saying that over and over ) and I didn't even get is autograph! Maybe next time,,,yeah right!!

The event sounds great Gary.

Well.....I guess you'll have to add Rocky to the list.

1.) Pete
2.) Rocky Patel
