Enjoying a cigar.
Several weeks ago, my brother-in-law and father-in-law came up for a visit from Florida. The temperature outside was in the high sixties, unusual for mid-October, and the sun was beaming on the patio deck. The three of us sat together sipping our drinks and smoking our cigars, telling stories, laughing, catching up, and just enjoying the peaceful day. I don't get together with them too often, but we all took advantage of the "reunion", and it turned into one of those "special moments" that I won't forget for a long while.
So I got to thinking, what was your best memory smoking a good cigar? Perhaps it was with a family member, maybe your dad, or perhaps with a friend(s), or maybe just alone in the peace and quiet. Let's hear 'em. ![]() |

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
For me it would probably be last months Herf & Surf. Got to meet some new friends in person like NCRadioman and CarbonBased_Al and get reacquainted
with some old friends. All of whom I met on here.

I think Cigar Fest this year was my best moment. I was with my boss and 2 of his nut-job brothers. I'm a nut job too so, it worked out great. I got to meet Ernesto Carillo and smoked a ton of great cigars. We also drove 10 hours to Cigar Fest and 10 hours back. Classic road trip baybeee! MCS |

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
Two weekends ago my brother and his wife came for a visit. Sat. my wife took his wife shopping so that my brother and I could have some porch time. I had bought 2 Alec Bradley Tempus Centurias earlier that week and we smoked them for what seemed like forever. We had a great time bonding and shared things both deep and light hearted. Life is Good!

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
I remember mine well; it was 2/25/1995. I was with my son in Grand Cayman for
a week of diving on the Cayman Aggressor. We arrived in the afternoon and spent the day browsing Georgetown, then had an incredible seafood barbeque on the top deck of the boat. After dinner, watching the sunset, I savored a Romeo y Julieta Churchill. It was dark, oily and incredible. I know it had a lot to do with the “ambience,” but I enjoyed that cigar more than any other in my life. |

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
All of the times I sat with my old man and sparked up a nice ISOM, his
, were great and I miss them dearly. Pops passed away a few years back and every time I sit on my deck when the weather is just perfect, I think of him and how we'd shoot the shit and have a great time for about an hour or so.

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
For me it was a unique time last fall (i.e. a year ago) during a stressful time. I sat on my patio with a reserva J21 and a scotch and was so relaxed it was almost an "out of body experience." I don't normally use that phrase or think in that way but it captures the essence of the experience.
Most of the time, however, my most enjoyable smokes are with friends. |

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
The finest moment for me having a cigar was on September 17th, 2007. My son Scott Jr. was born. I had some Montes in the hospital room and as my mother, daughter and wife were catching up with the new arrival, my father, twin brother and I snuck down to the hospital's garden area and sparked up the sticks. I loved the heck out of them. It was a great way to re-usher in fatherhood.

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
I'm too new to the brotherhood to have specific moment when I enjoyed a memorable cigar. I turned from pipe smoking to cigar smoking about two years ago. I have a routine I follow almost like clock work. After a hard days work where I sometimes feel like everyone is tugging at me from several direction at once. After taking of the family and finishing my chores at home. When the day is done I pour a glass of iced tea or coffee, sit in my rocking chair light a cigar and take easy draws. The stress of the day slowly goes away and whatever went wrong is forgotten. Tonight I smoked a Camacho triple manduro.

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
i have a few great memories, especially when i tried my first PSD#4 going back a few years ago near christmas time it was a nice relaxing night.
The other stories involve wild nights and are far too explicit for me to type here ![]() |

Re: Enjoying a cigar.
About a week ago my wife and I sat outside one evening by the fire I had going in our fire pan thing (have no idea what they are called). We talked about what we had done during the day, made fun of a few people, laughed some. Don't remember what stick I had but she was smoking some coffee flavored thing that kept going out. She was continually relighting it from the fire.
The simple things in life are usually the best. I hope I never forget times like that. |
