Cbid Bummer

I'm new to Cbid, and went after 3 boxes of Fuente Don Carlos. Got all three for a price I am (was?) happy with...no complaint there.

But all three boxes showed up, completely wrapped in cello with the Fuente humid-pack inside, and all three are bone dry. Cracked a wrapper just taking off the cello on a Presidente.

Should I just expect to re-humidify for a couple weeks in order to save a few bucks? No complaints otherwise. Good service, quick shipping...just expected to recieve product in "useable" condition.

Agreed! They took care of me one time when they messed up an order. But, I'm surprised on the quality because I've never had a problem with dry sticks from them.

Re: Cbid Bummer

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'd already taken a few sticks out of each box and removed the cello to re-hydrate in the humidor. They seem to be bouncing back, and I threw a humidtube in each box. I'll inspect more carefully next time and be ready to return if theres a problem. Good to hear that cbid has a lot of supporters.

Re: Cbid Bummer

They usually ship product in very good shape and I'd call them and let them know before it's too late. There is a period of time that you have to let them know so the sooner the better. I had one bad shipment but they made it right and I am very happy with them.

Re: Cbid Bummer

I agree with everyone's thoughts on C-bid's customer service. however Don Carlos have some of the most fragile wrappers I've ever come in contact with, so they may not be as dry as you think

Re: Cbid Bummer

If you are sure they are dry then send them back but make sure you are not handling them too hard as i do agree the camaroon on don Carlos cigars tend to be very thin and easy to crack if it goes beyond the wrapper and cracks the binder then they deff are dry and send them back (those humidi packs usually do well though and cbids storage is good) so I would be wondering why this has happend (if your delivery time is like a week due to living on the west coast get faster shipping)
Also when you send them back to cbid they are usually great about it and help you out and do it fast I have had 2 issues in all the years and they have both been resolved to my favor so I say send them back if you are not satisfied but make sure it is not frivolis as then they wont be so nice next time.
