Question Graycliffs to smoke or not to smoke?

Ok Curiousity is getting the best of me about Graycliffs. I'd like your opinion before I go drop $$$ on these tourist sticks. Are they what their cranked up to be. Have you tried them? Good or suck? Worth the $$ or not. And if so which would you recommend? Looking for advice from fellow BOTL. thanks

I like em. The crystals are a nice full bodied blend (love the taco), the espresso's are really damned strong, the Chateau's are a really nice medium bodied blend, and the emeralds are a very tasty candela. I'm not fond of the red or blue labels honestly.

I've only had a few Reds and Blues, but I really liked them...

I'm not giving up on them, but I really hope the second is better than the first.

They are certainly very good...as to worth the price? I think almost every super-premium non cuban is overpriced...if you think otherwise, than these are definately worth the price I would say.

The only Graycliff I've had is the red label. But I've smoked several and have a few in the humidor. I really like them. Not very strong, and kind of spicy. IMHO...a nice smoke.

I've had:

Red and Blue Labels: Very mild, nice flavor but not enough body for my taste.

Taco: Decent medium smoke, one dimensional but nice flavor.

Expresso: Medium to full bodied, complex, just wonderful smokes.

The only advice I can give is go through the devil to pick them up. You won't feel bad about your purchase at their price. Though I like med-full to full cigars. I have to say I really enjoyed the Red, milder of the 2.

Re: Graycliffs to smoke or not to smoke?

Not worth $20 each that my local B & M charges, but then again, I don't buy them there!! One of the best cigars I've had in a long time was a blue lable I had 4-5 months ago. I do not have the newest grand cruz, and have not been able to win a bid on the emerald at a reasonable price, so haven't tried the candelas yet. Have the expresso in humi stabilizing, another couple of weeks I will burn one of them to test!

Hype? Yes! Good Cigars? IMHO, YES. I would not pay $20 for them, though!!

Re: Graycliffs to smoke or not to smoke?

I personally love them! The crystal pirate is my favorite NC. Funny, I didn't really care for the taco that much... Red labels are milder (as was said before). Still trying to get my hands on an espresso.

As for the price: Trade with a brother to find out if YOU think so. I like them for special occasion smokes or to gift to someone special (like my dad - a newbie - I love teaching him about the finer things in life). But that's just me. If you don't like them, they aren't worth the price no matter how much a bunch of gorillas tells you they like them!

Re: Graycliffs to smoke or not to smoke?

I have only have had the red labels which I have traded or gifted on numerous occasions. For 18-23 a stick I expected a singing choir, with fireworks shooting out the end of the cigar like a roman candle. The fact is its a very good smoke. Its not worth what they charge for them though.

Both of my Graycliffs have been mounted and framed in shadowboxes... We've willed them to our grandsons.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch....
