LOVING that DIRT, but....

Somewhere in the South, there are small groups of folks who eat and enjoy dirt.

I'm in the North, so I smoke and enjoy Maduros.

There is NOTHING so pleasurable for me as that chocolate/coffee-dirt flavor in a maduro. I've added about 150 maduros to my stash over tha past few months. BUT, I suspect that my palate will change in a few months, and I'll be left with a coolerdor full of aging dirt!

Ahh well... Onward and forward!!!

Re: LOVING that DIRT, but....

I went through a 2 month span where maduro wasn't doing it for me at all. I switched to smoking primarily sungrown, rosado, and corojo wrapped cigars. The good thing though is when I went back to the maduros they had that much more age on them yet..

If you fear you might get sick of maduro wrappers put some variety in your humi now. I was once about 90% maduro, but now its only 50%.

Re: LOVING that DIRT, but....

I don't even take into account whether a cigar is a maduro or not when I go to pick one out......it's just whatever I happen to be in the mood for.

I do sometimes note that I have smoked several maduros in a row.

only about 1 in 10 I smoke are now maduros. used to be 4 or 5 until I decided to try as many different cigars as possible. the got shoved down the slope. I do enjoy a really good maduro though! Just a great flavor to have in the mix.

Re: LOVING that DIRT, but....

When I first got started I was heavily into Maduros, but as time passed by, less and less, by now only about 25% of my smokes are maduros. Still like them but not only them.

http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=21102 there are some things worse than dirt Skeet! Skeet!

But, i am starting to grow out of my maduros as well, they seem to one sided at them moment. I'd rather somke a medium smoke that devolpes flavor over time. But, I'm sure i'll go back.

Re: LOVING that DIRT, but....

I smoke mostly maduros. I smoked about 5 Partagas black since saturday. I was introduced to them during an event given by General cigar with Benito himsefl on saturday. I thought they were maduros. He said no they were legro from the middle upper part of the plant. I so far like them better than some maduros. I learned alot from him.
