Cheap Cigar Praise

I did a search and couldnt find a thread on this, but I could be spelling it wrong...Well here it goes I may get pounded for this one but, I'm trying other things besides maduro's now and at my local B&M I picked up a smoke called a Cuban Aristocrat.. It was $4 It was a double perfecto, and it was one of the better smokes I've had in a while.. Anyone else tried one of these? Nice smoke...No draw problems, great taste...I need to get some more of these...Since that time I've been back buying these things up...

You want cheap priced cigar with good quality, look for Cusano 18 and Corojo line. You can't beat them below five bucks.

GR Specials and Flor de Oliva are also worth looking at and cost less than the cigar that you smoked.

I had a really good experience with the Cuban Aristocrat as well. Unfortunately mine came in a sampler bag... I don't know how much it was and I don't know where it came from. I haven't been able to find them online either...

$4 seems a bit steep for this guy, but I'm happy that someone else has seen them. All of my cigar buddies think I'm crazy, they've never heard of it!

If the $4/cigar price point is where you draw the line for "cheap" cigars, there are literally dozens of great cigars in that price range.

Here's a quick list (copied from my own spreadsheet and I only cherry picked the ones that I've tried and considered very good):

The list goes from least expensive to the most with Don Pepin Black 1979 coming in at exactly $4/cigar. Every one of them scored at least a 3.5 or better on my list. With the 601 Red currently scoring the highest (although that can change as my tastes change).

I also have JFRs & Tampa Sweethearts in the list of sub $4/cigars, but I've yet to try them (well, I had one Tampa Sweetheart and the jury's still out on those since I don't rate any cigars until I've had at least 5 of so of them).

For cheap smokes I'm a big fan of Arturo Fuente curly heads. So what if they're short filler? They smoke nice and taste good. $1.50 to $2 a stick ($60 to $80 for a box of 40) depending on where you get them.

I'm not going to pretend that I know of any good $4 smokes (there's no such thing up here unless you're in a gas station), but glad to hear you've found some that suit your tastes!
