Makers Mark Stogies

Anyone tried them? A buddy of mine is wanting to try one (he likes flavored cigars as well as "regulars"), but doesn't want to shell out $12 or whatever if they're total crap.

If I was going to smoke a flavored cigar, this would be the one. They use very high quality tobacco and they are not that bad. Alot of flavored cigars use the flavoring to cover up the taste of crappy baccy but this is not one of them.

Re: Makers Mark Stogies

I had a three-pack of MM cigars (6X50). I smoked one and gave the others away. Not because they were particularly bad, but I just lost my taste for infused cigars. The cigar itself is a well-made Dominican. You can smell the booze in the wrapper, but the infusion is not overwhelming like an Acid. It is a mild smoke with mild flavor, in my opinion.

The cigar is overpriced, and that Red plastic wax thing is impossible to remove, but still worth a try. If he likes mild cigars, he may like the MM.

Re: Makers Mark Stogies

I thought the same thing. I like cigars and I like Makers Mark so they must be good together. Boy, was I surprised.

Probably one of the worst cigars I have smoked. I didn't like the flavorings at all. I had been warned by a friend a long time ago to stay away from flavored cigars. I won't buy one of these again or any flavored cigar for that matter.

Re: Makers Mark Stogies

I hated it too. To me it was just a mild cigar, with a bit of bourbon in the finish.

I don't care for flavored cigars, but this is the only one I ever thought was decent. Very subtle flavor, and as Greg said, made with good quality tobacco.

That being said, I doubt I will smoke another, and I certainly don't think it is worth $12.

Re: Makers Mark Stogies

I just tried one last week. I didn't regret it. It wasn't bad but I don't think it's worthy of 12 bucks.
If someone gave me one as a gift I wouldn't complain.

Re: Makers Mark Stogies

My : save your money and get 2 nice cigars you enjoy. They'll do if you get one as a gift, but as far as purchasing them, that's out. The one I had smelled up my entire bedroom when I opened it. Definitely not something for the humi once opened. I'd rather have 4 Curly Head Deluxe maduros!

Thanks for the input. He likes a milder smoke, so maybe he'll like them. Guess I'll let him know what you all said and let him decide!

Cheers!

Cheers is right. I normally do not light a cigar without a cocktail or beer. So if I am sitting with two fingers of whiskey or bourbon I dang sure am not sticking my cigar in it. I am not a fan. Nice presentation and looks good as a gift, but that is where I would draw the line.

To each there own.

Good Luck

As alcohol flavored cigars go...i hear the Gurhka Grand Reserve is excellent for around $10. Cognac infused.
