Smoked my first RP Vintage 1990 last night

Celebrating my good 'year end review' at work, and I pulled out a RP Vintage 1990 I got about a month ago. This was my first RP offering.

It started off great, excellent!!

But by the last 1/3 it was really bitter, even after multiple purging.

I looked up some reviews online and all described the same thing I experienced. Excellent smooth and yummy for 2/3, then almost unbearable in the final 1/3.

Question: Is there a RP offering that is as good as the first 2/3 of the Vintage 1990?

Try The Decade.
Probably his best blend so far. It's smoother than the 90/92's in my opinion and I've never not nubbed The Decade.

They are, however, a bit harder to come by.

I regularly smoke the vintage 90 Sixty and have not encountered this issue. Maybe try a couple of different vitolas?

Always keep them handy. Good smoke. Get them from cbid, lots cheaper there.

Yeah, a better choice is the La Aurora 1495 '94 Cameroon Corona. And yes, I realize it isn't a RP.

Re: Smoked my first RP Vintage 1990 last night

Honestly, IMO the 1990 and 1992 aren't worth smoking. When the Edge Maduro first came out, I loved them. And Nisch Patel gave me an Old World Reserve before they were released and it was good. Almost every RP I have smoked went down hill after it was out a while. Now, the only RP I smoke is if I can find The Edge Maduro Missle or on occasion, the Decade.

Too many other gars that are better for the price.

I'm not a big fan of the 90/92 blends either but I regularily smoke the Sungrown, Signature, Edge & love the Decade.

I've never had a bad 90 in the torp. The decade though is a great cigar. IMO you can get a better stick for the price but it's still a great smoke.
