How to cope with the cold?

Alright, I'm originally from Chicago but I've lived in AZ for the past 15 years so my blood has thinned out. I'm going to New York for the Holidays and would like to enjoy some cigars over the vacation, but then it hit me...
It's gonna be friggin cold!

How do you cold people do it and still enjoy a nice smoke without having to: rush, put it out early, or lose a finger to frostbite?
Any recommendations?

Re: How to cope with the cold?

B&M's are your friends. If you insist on smoking outdoors though, try to get a space heater. If you can't, oh man, wear some warm clothes. If it's is an OK cigar, pinch it when you are satifisied. If it is a good cigar, I'd smoke it till the band. If it's a great cigar, I'd try to pinch it at the nub.

Re: How to cope with the cold?

Dress in layers, light the grill and break out the wiskey or rum. The more wiskey or rum, the less you care that it is cold.

Re: How to cope with the cold?

Although its not freezing in Delaware, i recently moved from FL so its cold to me. I cant smoke in my house, so i usually smoke in my garage or wait til there is a warmer day and smoke and grill outside.

Re: How to cope with the cold?

It's the frozen hands that get me. Luckily I live in Houston so I don't even own a pair of gloves. When we do get down into the 20's, I just don't smoke because I know it will probably warm up after a day or so...Suckas!

Just chop your hands off like I did, problem solved.

Re: How to cope with the cold?

I simply don't smoke from November thru March unless it's unusually warm. By the time March or April comes around I'm rarin to go!

Agreed. I spend more and more time in the local b&m's when it's cold out (in Milwaukee).

Try to find a local shop - it'll be worth it.

Re: How to cope with the cold?

alright, I made it to New York luckily with only minor setbacks and our luggage going to JFK instead of Newark
Luckily I had my cigars with me in my backpack so they were safe the whole time.
It is friggin cold here!!
I have puffed outside twice now and once it was with some nice bourbon which helped, the other was during the day today but it was damn windy.
I cannot truly relax and enjoy the cigars.
I am excited that it is supposed to warm up into the upper 40's over the next few days and that should make a difference.
But I am going to have to search out a cigar bar or store with a lounge that is close by to truly relax and enjoy one.
