Which premium cigar for a special occasion?

I wanted to just buy one of these three cigars for a special occasion. I just want to get one because of the massive price they cost here. I have never smoked any of the three.

1. Bolivar Gold Medal

2. Cohiba Siglo VI

3. Padron 1964 Maduro Imperial

What would you choose?

Don't know how much help I'll be since I've never tried the Bolivar, but between the others two, I would go with the Padron.

Might I suggest a Monte Sublime if you can find one. I was lucky enough to try one from the local LCDH a few weeks ago and was blown away by it. Truly the best CC I've ever had... big stick with big taste and a hell of a nicotine punch to it.

I don't know about those cheaper cigars you are talking about. The Mercantile I go to only carries good cigars like my White Owl Premiums. The also have Backwoods and Black n Milds. I gotta get my buddy to buy me Dutch Masters though. He lives up there in the city.

So far I am leaning towards the Padron as it is aged. I cant get Montecristo sublimes in singles, only boxes and I cant afford a box.

jimbo - i don't think you should immediately discount those white owls - paired with meister brau (is that available down under?) and diesel fuel, apparently, the combination is unbeatable. probably cost you less than the other sticks!

Of those choices, go with #2. Plus I know it goes well with Wild Turkey American Honey, a favorite drink of yours.

Haha, very good. Your correct I do love that stuff. But when I smoke a Cohiba VI I think I will have to open my bottle of Wild Turkey Rare Breed

Re: Which premium cigar for a special occasion?

Having never had the pleasure of trying the Bolivar, it's a toss up between the Cohiba and the Padron. Both great cigars. Since I believe you smoke primarily Cuban, I'd try out the Padron.

Re: Which premium cigar for a special occasion?

You can’t go wrong with any of the cigars you mentioned, but I would go with either the BGM or the Siglo VI. I haven’t had a BGM, but I’ve read great things about them and my curiosity would get the best of me. Siglo VIs are great cigars with plenty of flavor.
